Just to confirm, you can only arm 48v on both preamps at once? If so, that's so disappointing for anyone recording with 2 mics at once. My guitar mic setup just wouldn't work.

Can the USB C port on the back not be used to carry MIDI data then? And why is MIDI needed in the interface itself, when an instrument's MIDI is usually connected directly into the computer seperately?

I agree, that puts me off bit. But I noticed the USB C port on the back, & I guess that could be used to carry MIDI signals, right?!

Hi thank you for this video, I have one problem with the audio output. I have connected my studio monitors and IO station with 2 TRS cables from iO station output, and I have another audio output cable from my windows PC audio output jack to the same monitor. I dont want to use iO Station when I am not recording and want to use my pc audio output from motherboard. But when I use the audio monitor for regular use while iO station is powered off there is noise in my speaker. But if I unplug the USB-C cable which is connected for Io station then there is no noise. So can you please give me a solution that whether it is ok to keep both audio output simultaneously or should I unplug any of them. thank you so much.

Sounds like an earthing issue, sometimes when things are powered off this can happen, you could just leave the ioStation on and switch the audio output in your PC, or just unlplug the USB cable at the ioStation end and leave it loose while not in use

@@sonicstate - haha sorry. I think it's the tone of voice then. That raspy quality he has. Most Americans have a hard time differentiating regional dialects of the UK outside of the proper "Queen's English" accents vs the rest. I've been there often (though it's been a while) and I can only pinpoint Manchester accents and that's only because of the people I know from the Manchester area. Though I'm sure even in Manchester it can wildly vary among local chavs.

Would this be helpful for recording musical instruments on Studio one 5? So this would also give me 2 extra XLR inputs?
@KozmykJ4 жыл бұрын
Maybe 2 Extra if you can get Studio One to work with more than one interface at a time. I know I can't with mine, but my Presonus Firepod is pre Universal Control era so later interfaces may work chained.

I don't get it. I have thought about touchscreens, controllers vs mouse and keyboard. Either you go real hands on mixer or mouse. I don't see how obscure buttons and switching fader's with a wheel is going to help anything...thoughts?

More precision and much faster to get work done

How many faders are you really moving at a time? The single motorized fader is actually very useful for automating. As a solo musician I find value in the built in transport with a large encoder wheel above it. The ability to monitor at the unit and arm- mute- solo- record or punch in and out without touching said mouse and keyboard. These are all good steps in the right direction. I feel like it didn't need the audio interface, maybe just a headphone out with mix control. If they added midi and built a usb hub into the device I would have paid 400+ for it.
@scottmartin77173 жыл бұрын
@@vladamirtepes5567 you know the FaderPort is this thing without the audio interface, right? I don't think it has the headphone out though
