thought to myself.. why not check out what mr Craftmaster says about bass before I dive in to another experiment. I knew I was missing a secret ingredient and when you said that one sentence. The bass is an extension of the kick...that just opened up a whole new world for me. wish I could buy you a beer someday cheers!

Hey bro, just got one more question. When i listen to my song (including a deep sub bass) with my monitors the bass is nice and fat but when i listen to it with my Mac or iPhone the bass is just gone. I know that the boxes of my Mac are not the same as monitors. But when i listen to commercial songs on spotify or youtube i can hear those low sub bass parts. at the moment i want to do a drum and bass part in my song but when you can't hear the bass it doesn't make sense. Do you have any advice?
@Craftmaster37 жыл бұрын
they are using distortion to add harmonics, thats what you are hearing not the acutal sub frequencies, phones, laptops and earbuds cant play tones below 50hz typically
@LeonSock7 жыл бұрын
Craftmaster Productions oh ok but doesn't the clean subbass lose its cleanness when you use destortion or how do you do it so that the sub stays clean and doesnt get to crunchy?

I actually think this a really good video on making basslines however as this is a couple years old now I'm certain you have some more tips and insights on writing basslines as of today. I'm curious to see a follow up to this video as it relates to your advancement as a composer today in 2018.

beatrenegades it’s the same shit bro. Bass is the most basic part of beat making. Keep it simple, make it the most simple part of ur beat.
