Sadly, I bought my Presonus 16.4.2 just before the AI models came out. Regardless, the group I am in has four lead vocalists, each of which typically sings harmony when not singing lead. While this is a definite blessing, we don't have the ability to reduce the Hi-eq for the three backups while one of the four is singing lead. Anytips on how to overcome this? (I ask because I often have a problem as a drummer to hear whomever is singing lead and also who's singing which harmony part).

That's a tricky one. One solution would be to patch all four singers to two channels each, and have each person's primary channel be their backup EQ. Then have a second channel for each of them with the EQ tuned for lead. When they switch, mute the first channel and turn on the secondary channel. Essentially, you would have two options for each singer and use the mute buttons to swap out the lead EQ for the backing EQ settings. You'd need a good sound tech to manage it, but it should work... if you have enough open channels.

@@AndrewBellous Thanks Andrew. I'm always looking for excuses to upgrade my equipment. Looks like I need a bigger board. (Might as well get an AI model with Bluetooth while I'm at it!).

Can we edit the equalization of an individual singer while the whole band is playing live without having to mute the others?

Yes, you should be able to select the channel, adjust the EQ and not have any interruption. This should be possible from the board and also from the App.

Glad you were kind. This was a quick and dirty explanation, and I'm sure there are many ways to improve upon it.
