PreSpawn Monster Bass FROG Fishing

“PreSpawn” and “Between the Spawns” bass often stage nearby just offshore in deeper water while they wait for the weather conditions to change back from winter chills and high pressures that do not influence them positively toward beginning or resuming their spawning activity until warmer temperatures and the humidity begin to return. Even on blue bird day high pressures you can often get a big bass to smash a FROG Lure when the typical chilly morning air gives way to the warming late morning air. The oppurtunity doesn’t last long, and it doesn’t occur in the usual frog fishing places. But with a little forethought and intuition, you can sometimes find these temporary holding areas and get a monster to react during the beginning of an activity period. In this video example, there is only a few very small, widely scattered, deep water pads in a lake that has other areas with heavy pad cover. The proximity to the spawning areas is the key. It is worth a few casts to such areas, especially when it is calm, clear water because bass can see and hear the FROG Lure from a long distance, and a bass has hormones flowing at that time of year that can trigger aggression when warming waters or improving weather front conditions stimulate an activity period. Later in the day, those same bass may move up shallow into heavier pads or vegetation to spawn or feed, especially if the weather front changes. But, one thing about these Designer Bass FROGs -- the better the bass can see them -- the more likely they will eat them !
