Are we really satisfied with Sean Longstaff still being in the starting eleven? Three years after the takeover? Jacob Murphy? If I were Tonali I would be pushing to go back to Milan, he is clearly not suited to the pace of the Premier League. For Italy he looks world class but for us? I don't think Howe knows how to use him, a top manager gets top performances out of top playera, Howe is pissing away tge career of this highly talented player.

Longstaff is limited as a player, his distribution and awareness is inconsistent at best, but what he does bring is intensity, pressure on the opposition, and stamina. He’s a water carrier, and all great teams have had an unsung hero and they can usually be found in midfield. Obviously Longstaff isn’t in the same league as players such as Deschamps, Gattuso, or Casemiro, but he’s proving crucial to this Newcastle team. It’s a question of balance.
