Totally wrong, why stick with a manager who ensures we're a yo-yo team if he stays? Do you want to have the worst points tally in premier league history? I don't, i want us to fight and playing this delusional style of football will see us down by new year. Martin talks a good game but then says the fans are quick to criticise. The season started in August and its now December. His plan "B" is a slight change from plan "A". Neither plans are working and when is going to recognise that?

apart from the risky passing it around the back that annoys me, we always try to score the same goal which makes us predictable. we don’t press as much, we lack speed and power in key areas and to be honest, we look unfit. i accept we’ve been unlucky in certain games but we don’t help ourselves. we look far more dangerous when we get the ball forward quicker which makes me think we’d be better off as a counter attacking team. also, i hope dibling gets a new agent, this one sounds like bad news. at least we know the club value him extremely high, hopefully he stays with us when we go down and build the team around him.

8 points now from safety and the gap is developing! The points raised hear I agree with, however, Dibling and several other key players will be gone in the summer when we are relegated. The club will keep RM in the hope that he will get saints promoted. I believe this is the owners plan as bringing in a new manager and coaching staff at this stage of the season is too expensive and too late to change things around. I personally do not think that we will go back up this time for a few seasons as we have to rebuild again. If saints can turn things around now then I wish them well, but RM will not change his ways and the vast majority of our players are Championship level. Fans should look at saints owners who should take the blame for not bringing in the right players to adapt and survive the Premier league. RM takes the blame for his defensive tactics i.e playing out from the back, 9 goals conceded this way and that is why we are bottom. To have any chance of survival, saints must win at least 2-3 games over the Xmas period, a tall order! Good luck saints!

@@SaintWill70 Agree, but the owners also screwed up by bringing in 14 players with very limited premiership experience. We got some very talented players, but last summer we should have brought in 3-4 players with premiership experience i.e Broja, Ings, Philips and McTominay to name a few. Its all about surviving the premier league in your first season with the right players.

Saints cannot compete in the EPL with this manager and players we have got. It is a race to the bottom with the budget and non ambitious of this ‘selling club’ where any potential good young players are always on the market for sale or looking to get out at the earliest possibility.

You said In the press conference, that in the play offs we worked really hard for the first 60 minutes then the emotions kicked in. I've seen every game this season and every time we play well for about 60 minutes which indicates to me that they are not fit enough. There are too many players out of position on the transition, we can't tackle and we give the ball away too much. Spurs will play for 90 minutes as they did against Rangers.

With regards the GK kicking it long, ironic cheers, but not being set up to play long so we let in a goal etc - he's right, but the point RM seems unable to grasp is that we SHOULD have been set up to play more direct given Lumley is our 4th choice GK and we still had several key players missing who are more experienced and capable of playing high possession football

This guy clearly cuts out the details and deliberately emphasises nonsense to back his point. 1 we didn't concede because we went long against villa, Taylor made a mistake when Wood had the striker under control. Saying there was nothing in the Villa game was absolute BS, they could and should have scored 4+. It's all good having a plan A when you have the players to actually implement it, our players aren't good enough as shown by the amount and frequency of our mistakes. Russels plan A only works consistently if we have the superior players which in almost every game we don't. Another thing against Liverpool which baffled me was when we had tall Paul on the pitch we played short and as soon as he went off we went direct. Explain that one Russell.

We won’t score passing it long. I know it’s one example against Liverpool, but Van Dijk won nearly every header against Paul. So it’s fine saying don’t concede, but the best chance we have to scoring, is how we’ve done so far this season in build up. The mistakes are hard to watch. But going long to Arma and Archer is totally pointless.

It's really frustrating hearing him be so arrogant about his style/tactics. The fact is Russell you can't win prem games because teams know exactly what we're doing EVERY game. We play it out from the back and teams are on us straight away which draws out the mistakes, it's so predictable.

When Lumley kicked it loing, the cheer would have been aginast the tactics, not JL's decision himself. Playing out from the back is painfully boring and slow to watch. Fans go to football for escapism, and to be entertained. It's currently neither.

The vast majority of saints fans are criticising saints because it is not the right tactics to play in the premier league. You don't need to be a football expert to see what is going wrong. We are getting beat because of our poor defensive tactics i.e. too slow and playing out from the back, and no, like many fans, it is not the style of play we want to see because its not working! We are not far away? A bit late when we are half way through the season! As a saints fan for over 50 years, I do wish saints well and good luck!

Exactly! I've been going to saints games for over 30 years, we've seen some fantastic managers and some woeful ones. What makes a top manager is being able to adapt and change tactics before or during each game. If you're a one trick pony you're going to get found out quickly.
