It’s really nice to hear that someone else kept everything quiet for a year before telling friends and family. I’m doing the same and feel a little guilty but as a shy person I’m afraid the pressure would get to me! Really appreciate all the work you put into your content. I started my shop about 3 months ago and I’m starting to gain some confidence and customers ❤

I’m curious to know how telling people you know about your business went! Did it change the way you feel about what you’re doing? Was anyone weirded out that you didn’t tell them? I’ve been so nervous someone will find out before I’m ready haha😅

Great video! I would like to add on to the part about prices. Something I learned as a Nailtech myself is that when you start off by offering low prices you will attract the wrong customers. And when it’s time to raise the prices you will lose them. So it’s good to know your worth from the very beginning and make sure your products are high quality from the start so practice practice practice

That is very good advice ❤ I’m an artist and you’re absolutely right on the customers reactions to lower vs higher prices! I had to learn that the hard way 😢 but I know my worth and the ones who still stuck with me do too ❤

This has been my biggest problem. Plusy area was so over saturated with nail shops and day spas it was hard to gain good paying clients. I'm getting back into it after a few years and am super excited to start my own business this way. Thank you for all the information.

Keeping it a secret from family and friends is a great idea. Not everyone will support or look to see you winning. Especially if you already know your not gonna be great off the jump. You gotta crawl before you walk. 😊

That is so true... Unfortunately, I cannot hide my new business from my family because I am currently living with them, and well my mom is nosey lol. But it's all good they have been really supportive so far in the early stages as I set things up and slowly get things together. fingers crossed I get more traction on all my social sites. But the advice in this video about posting your created nails on socials to help grow an audience before I launch was a great idea!.

I cried after watching this video Very good tutorial and inspiring. Something I learnt today is I should not be scared to be judged, don’t overthink just start. And again dedicate for example an hour a day towards something that will help me towards attaining my goal. Very inspiring, thank you. And your designs and your immaculate way of doing things is commendable. Keep doing the good work!

Thank you so much... I literally am starting out just like you did... I was at home after injuring myself at work and have become down and bored out of my mind so for some reason I saw a YT video on nails and said "hey I should try that" and in my true ADHD fashion I went out and brought everything possible and now I'm learning everyday by teaching myself thru YT videos, Interesting and trial/error...so glad I found this video coz I was feeling a little lost and thinking I just wasted all this money thinking I wasn't gonna be good enough. I just went thru my old nails I have been practising this past month and I realise I have improved massively already so now more confident for future.. hopefully I will be able to start selling in new year...

I loved ❤this video you provided a lot of great information that I will put into action. I am in the process of starting my first-ever small business and nail art is one of the items I will be selling. I have a passion for art in general starting with my 3D paint pourings using random things around the house, I am not sure if I will sell that art on my website or not, but who knows maybe I will put up a few small pieces here and there and see if anyone likes them. BUT... NAILS... I have a huge passion for nails I got heavy into this when I created my ASMR channel and I collected over 40 sets of my own and always thought what if i made my own nails, I mean I can do this and why not sell them?. You gave some great advice here, and so far I have all my socials created and ready to go, My Website will be the last thing I create but I think I am going with Shopify I have been hearing great stuff about them. I am in the process of getting my inventory delivered, I just received my first batch a mix of Shipping supplies and supplies that I will use for my Nails. I am debating if my first video should be an unbox with my first inventory. And then follow up with some shorts showing some of my creations that I can also share on all my other socials. I love Cap Cut and I think that would be an awesome way to enhance my images and post the same video on social like TikTok. And maybe create a video showing my small business Shipping and workstation setup once it's complete. I will watch the other video that you suggested on nail-making essentials, I think I have everything, but I am sure there might be something I might be missing.

Hello can you also address the safety concerns on making press ons esp in small rooms at home 🏡 I’m a nail technician and I’m used to the fumes at the salon even with masks but I’m gravitating towards wanting to do press ons at home although even some of the Korean /japanese products have such a strong smell unfortunately they are labeled HEMA free etc I guess that’s the only thing that throws me off are the fumes and chemicals from doing nails at home and making large quantities 😅
