Probably the one episode that made Press Your Luck earn the moniker Television's Most Competitive Game.

There are many other episodes with a competitive 2nd round but this one tops it. For stats $31,408 is now $76,188 adjusted for inflation in Dec 2018. Imagine losing that amount of money on a game show today

Note: This episode has numerous edits to trim the game into a 22 minute broadcast. This Buzzr copy plays out the same as the CBS broadcast (no speedups) and I have included the #232 production slate at the beginning

One day I would love to see the un-edited version of this episode.

Sucks that Lori fell victim to the $24,000 curse. Players falling just shy of $25,000 max limit and losing the next day.

With her winnings, I Hope Lori bought some blouses that didn't have those 80's shoulder pads!

As Michael Buffer- "Are you ready?" "Press Your Luck fans, ARE YOU READY?!" "For the thousands in attendance, and the millions watching around the world on KZbin and social media." "Ladies and gentlemen from Television City in Hollywood, LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!"

I watched this a long time ago, and even then I felt Lori was a bitch for continuing passing the spin back to Cathy. When Randy finally took his turn to spin, after hitting that $5,000 should have passed the remainder of his spins early to Lori, to put her under pressure and possibly make her feel what Cathy felt big time. That swine in the middle didn't deserve to get away with it.

Strategy dude.

@@biruss Of course it is, but it is also a behaviour. Gamesmanship. And it's also too easy to just label it when being a home audience member, rather than when you're actually a contestant.

@@alexsdb9712 Lori apologized to cathy and felt bad for Randy. She memorized one pattern. Cathy ought have taken her last spin, not passed to Randy. Randy ought have taken one and passed to Lori. Lori might have just tried to catch Cathy's 13616 with 10485 and 3 spins

@@biruss of course, but if it was just that, I or anyone else wouldn't be inclined to comment about the scenario. There was a gamesmanship factor in that moment.
