Maturing in the spirit...this message is so important. In todays world material things have taken place the place of spiritual maturity. Depending on your pastor will not get you into heaven if you don't know God yourself.

On point! It's sad that people are idolizing pastors, especially those in the megachurches. Because their affections in the wrong places, they twist the Word of God. We need to abide always in God and God alone because only Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life 👑

Amen. I agree a pastor is only a teacher and shepherd. But so many have made them so much more. This is dangerous, nobody should come between us and our relationship with God. Jesus is all we need.

Our spiritual walk should be our number one priority. Growing as Christians, and becoming mature believers allows us to grow closer (more intimate) with our Creator.

Keeping out hearts and minds set on God and seeking to glorify Him in all we say and do, and even in our thought life, is the only way we will grow in our faith. We need to pray, study His word, and commit verses to memory so that our every thought would revolve around our Lord. If our thought life remains pure, then our words and actions will be glorifying to Him. This is the only way to press forward in our faith-walk.
