In my opinion that man makes the best videos on youtube related to pressure points and martial arts at all. It is great that he shows us not only the location of the points but all of the things we should understand like the proper angles of attack and the real applications of the strikes and combinations. Also the concept behind the whole system is simple 1) move out of the way and redirect 2) strike the best avaible point 3)follow up with takedowns, punches.............

Came across your video while searching for something else. Was only going to view for a minute but watched the entire clip. I ve been over fifteen years and have been looking for pressure point training because I have soriatic arthritis so I don't do much punching these days. Your video is the best street application I've seen. Even the video with Master Dillman I bought in the 90's didn't break it down like your's. I'm taking my 4th Dan test in TKD this November and have to make up my own one step sparring techniques which I've already done but some slightly similar but now I'm going to work some your stuff especially the pressure points. Thank you Sir and God bless

I don't know why so many negative comments... Most of this teacher's advice is about creating space to strike. The pressure points are correct, and he doesn't exaggerate what they do. It's mostly just to give you an idea of where to hit. He does a great job of explaining spacial relationship, so this is not a bad video. Yadi

While many may see no value in this video, I can assure you these techniques work well. I have studied 7 star Gung Fu for over 30 years. This is the first time I've seen a video that covers techniques that I know to be highly effective. Having served in the Marines and worked in personal security for much of my life, I have come to understand the importance in downplaying a technique to avoid attention. Without landing fists, it appears that the aggressor is subdued by a relaxed reaction. We all enjoy violent fight scenes but when an onlooker sees an aggressor fall unconscious for some unknown reason, it adds to the intimidation factor while not drawing blood. It also adds a shock value to the aggressor as he is confused as to what dropped him. Ultimately, if you train well nobody suffers permanent injury and you decrease your chance of charges as more often there are no marks left from the strikes. Much respect Master Rogers.

First, after reading some of the comments I believe that some are too harsh and extreme while others have a certain amount of truth. Of course, if these were used on a professional fighter that is physically trained it would be difficult. However, for the average person that throws average punches the defensive techniques have some merit. Secondly, the one using the (definition debated) knock out strikes....he would have to be trained enough to use properly and the aggressor would have to be novice enough for them to work. Finally, I am happy that he shared the concepts. I've seen these techniques work well if practiced properly. Of, course I've seen them not work well. What I've learned is it is the one that practices both technically and physically that comes out ahead most of the time. Nothing works perfectly all the time, however without practice the risk increases.

MifuneBoBune I’m a mixed martial artists, I don’t disagree with him on this because i never under estimate my opponent. But what happens when your aggressor punch your hands or spins kicks for your hands. You know gotta break that stance when he says it’s about your hands in the begging, it’s true but if he using his hands like that iknow to target his hands and not his face, and for you to call some of them morons is not mixed martial artists style. Because with that case muah thai can beat this I practice that, boxing, karate and a lot more styles like brizlian jujitsu, this guys moves are good for someone that can’t fight, because mma works out the body even if they weigh 225 size don’t matter in a fight but when he knows what to hit and aim for your left to do something you never thought you would have to do, emprivize. Having to reget your mind right.

What works for one person may not work for another. I prefer Wing Chun hand technics. For a more stiff armed person they may not work. Taller guys are usually bad ground fighters but have reach. Short guys are better on the ground with shorter reach. Keep an open mind, don't rely on one style or technic. Each art has it's strong points. Pick the technics that work for you and perfect them. Steve H doesn't like these technics. Chris Conley found these technic useful for him. Instead of bad mouthing each other we should encourage each other. An expert swordsmen shouldn't tell an expert archer how to hit his target.

Fighting is eazy. It is just a memory of flow. And when you've got conditioning with speed and power, then you are a great fighter. But to be able to strike while moving back or to the side with speed and power is the key to staying a champion. This is how you become the best....to have intense offensive and defense like Dominick Cruz. Most of the fighters are trained so they are boxed into a frame and they can't do the backward thing and the side punching thing.

Take all instruction with a grain of salt. Everything seems to flow in the dojo. There is no perfect form, strike, or technique. Everyone has a few good moves and a ton of bad ones. The only good move is when the opponent hits the pavement and doesn't get back up. How you get them there is with a little bit of skill, a little bit of determination, and a whole lot of sheer will to win. I've won. I've lost. I've been down and I've put down. A hard head, a hard punch, and a high tolerance for pain works well for me most of the time. It seems the older I get, the less likely I am to play and more likely I am to throw down some serious stuff if pushed to that point. I'd rather not, but if I must, I'd rather walk away than be carried away. Be safe out there.

Funny how some people are saying "This shit won't work", but if you learned a similar entry like the first one in, let's say, Kali, or if a JuJitsu instructor gave you a similar entry before a finishing technique, all the haters would be all over it. The entry at the beginning of the video is pretty good, and his theories about engagement are sound, but the second the words "pressure point knockout" comes up, the people that might have already learned a similar technique are all of a sudden "expert skeptics".

I agree fully. I've done the traditional styles of Kempo, Black Tiger Claw, and Waza Kai since I was 7. And all my masters have told me one simple thing. Never expose my skills to the public. Which for one, is the reason why I only give my input on what is going on. And two, I never make myself the center of attention with my abilities. Not a big fan of being a target to would be challengers with guns. I heard so much about martial artists being shot because some idiot thought they could stop a bullet or just because they got their asses beat and can't leave it be.

I preach love over hate and fighting. Always try to avoid it even if you know you can win or you can kill the other person. Fighting may even be evil, meaning you might go to hell for practicing it, for the Akuma lays in the martial arts. Sounds crazy, but it may be truer than you may know. Let others beat you if you can handle it. Strike back if you can't. Best everyone not try to hurt others.

so you will be able to block it succesfuly especialy if you combine the block with rotating of the body to absorb the power of the punch and if you miss this area of the arm you can hit the bicep which is actually a weak point and if you make block and strike at the same time you will win the fight because this way you eliminate the second hit :) then you just follow up with whatever is needed to end up the fight quickly :)

If you have your hands out like he does in the beginning, after being that close already from hitting one of the arm points, would it be better to chop both sides of the neck? It seems like that might more effectively prevent a second strike attempt with both hands? Nice video . That combo is one ive used in karate and seen in ninjutsu too come to think of it.
@AJweathersby10 жыл бұрын
Interestingly enough, a lot of what this guy is saying is actually pretty sound advice. Maintaining a good distance to have room to react. Keeping things to short combinations, and not long 10 step combos. Reading and reacting to your opponent. Never going straight backward in the face of an aggressive opponent. Pressing your opponent non-stop if you find an opening your opponent can't readily close. These are all teaching employed in boxing, MMA, bare-knuckle karate, and virtually every other striking art. The pressure point arm stuff isn't too far-fetched either. In Jiu-jitsu, there's kinds of techniques where they submit people by crushing, locking, or grinding against forearms, quads, calves, biceps and other parts of your limbs that aren't joints. Now I don't know about all this pressure point striking. Sure, chopping someone in the neck and using palm strikes to the chin hurt like hell. They were banned from being used in Pride UFC because they were dangerous to the point of being life-threatening. I don't think that's really a pressure point tho. More like just a vulnerable area that you need in order to breathe.
@raulreveles972210 жыл бұрын
The Haters are right, this and most self-defense techniques "don't work in a real fight." Self-defense is not fighting, self-defense is trying not to get killed. All things being equal, the defender always has the advantage.
@usermax5611 жыл бұрын
Honor and integrity won't matter if you're actually in a situation where you are endangered, meaning someone is trying to mug you. You would just want to get out of that situation without getting hurt, by using blows to the groin and such. But then again if you are a experienced martial artist, anything is possible with knowledge.
@streetsamurai110 жыл бұрын
Real Pressure Point attacks put people down. Period. The idea is he is attacking areas where the nerves are not protected by bone. Drunk or not you hit a dude in the wind pipe or shut of a signal to his brain he goes down. Whether you have the skill accomplish it when your life is on the line come down to training.

Need to keep your finger together when chopping. Instead of 1-2-3 make it 1--- once your forward motion is started let the 1-2-3- all flow, your foot should float giving your body weigh moving forward to enhance the power, once thew foot lands that power and weight turns to stability.

I can agree that this system is piss as there is no room for this type of trainig for street based applications but.....this is how all practinioners start out. I did...you did...( if you train)......he did. Wing chun uses a wooden man with "arms" that are just out there to teach you proper technique and movement. That would be different than a pressure point knock out. I have seen this type of thing done in MMA. There are points on the body, when pressed, are extremely painful. I saw a fight that ended with a man forcing his chin into someone's eye. They tapped quickly.

True WingChun I can show you video upon video of Gracie's strangling dudes who spent years learning Karate, Wing Chun, Hapkido and other non-sense. They last for a couple of hundreds (not thousands btw), because they don't get tested on competent opponents. People think that TMA work because they do work, mostly, on people who have no training, whatsoever. Strikes will defeat someone who doesn't know how to defend against them. Grappling will defeat anyone who doesn't know how to defend against a take down. It is really that simple and it has been proven time and time again. So you go back to poking telephone poles, I'm going to strangle someone so I can perfect my technique. "Ive sparred and demoed on plenty of fighters, from grapplers to recent MMA practitioners. I know what works, because Ive done the hard efforts to master, and test the stuff for real. I dont rely on hearsay, ignorance, other peoples lackings, and any other form of weak arguments.. to tell me whats real, and what is not." I'm glad that you test your skills and not just pantomime them like the clown in the videos. It seems we are on the same page by knowing that pressure point knockouts and chi strikes are non-sense. Cheers.

True WingChun So you have videos of all this? I can show you videos of all types of TMA "masters" getting choked unconscious. There are zero videos of pressure point attacks working against a trained opponent. I mean zero. Modern TMA is essentially religion. Old, hokey, people dancing in pajamas convinced by faith that they can fight.
