Pressure testing plumbing 1st fix pipework in this new extension to make sure its all leak free before any boarding goes up.
This is key when plumbing new heating and hot/cold pipework into a house....as you dont want any issues when its time to fill up

Top work mark, it’s great testing at first fix and finding any leaks as it’s a bummer when you fill up and find a leak and have to start cutting holes in ceilings. The only thing I would watch when testing in an existing system like this is test your primaries and domestic hot and cold separately as you could end up with all the sludge and crap in them old radiators getting into your domestic hot and cold and contaminating your pipe work and fittings.

I love how you had to justify the use of plastic. Every plumber worth their salt always wants to use copper where they can, but in a realistic world, sometimes it’s just not possible. Nothing wrong with plastic. It has its place. Great deal on the SLR1750. Got mine on the last deal. GREAT bit of kit. 👍

Hi Mark, just orederd unilite 1750 already have the 1000 great work lights i do tend to leave it on charger so it does'nt run out half way through a job, also compression fittings under floor they should have got you to remove them but i know your working to there spec also i test all poly plumb to 18bar as per manufactuers instructions and seperate any existing pipework and test at lower pressure, keep up the good work mate.

8 bar 😱. 1½ working pressure is 4.5bar 😂😂. Well at least you know if the combination valve fails the pipes will hold. Great video and great job.

I thought the same !!, , I remember plumbing a new build some years back , and we pressure tested speed fit at 8 bar , just as we reached 8 bar a fitting on the top floor blew off , sending a cascade of water all over a joiner who was working on the stairs 😂😂. Luckily we were obviously at the first fix stage , so no serious damage done

Testing the existing system as well to 8 bar is pretty brave! I think ultimate handyman did a test on hep2o and that went to 30+ bar.

We dry test at 6 bar for mlcp we now only use compression fittings on copper for the test because we have had speed fit caps fail and its amazingly dangerous they leave the pipe like a bullet it went straight through the plasterboard ceiling might be worth reading up on dangers of dry testing cheers mate 😊

Normally a risk ass and method statement requires empty building for safety reasons when air testing. Seen a few holes in walls on site myself. Think very large air rifle.

You always mention that you have to "mark up " the pipe runs so you can follow the run, why can't the manufacture put a marker on the pipe or is it to much hassle for you to use a different manufacture say for the flow or cold Great vids keep up the great work

Do you not find a coil of hep2o easier? We use hep2o when copper not viable. Easy get in out the job in no time. Great content though 👌

Plenty of new pipework there. Do the new regs mean you have to lag all the heating pipes? Its a right ballache, (and pointless in my opinion). I don't know anyone who enjoys doing that.

Holes in joists mighty close to supporting walls Surprised building inspector allowed it…..building regs state holes drilled through joists must be between 0.07 and 0.25 of the span .
