I have an 8gpm at 3600psi unit, I was looking to do some roof cleaning. Just wondering if i could get away with down streaming with an Xjet and a General Pump high volume low pressure gun.
@PressureCleaningSch2 жыл бұрын
1) get away? Yes. But not the ideal way. I would never use it for roof cleaning. 2)The high volume wash down gun, Im assuming your talking about the red and blue guns that are all the rage now, I would not use one mainly cause of the weight of if it and I can get close to same volume using ball valve or 0060 nozzle. And you’d need a flow actuated unloader vs pressure. I only use pressure actuated. But either way I just don’t see the need to use one.

I might have heard wrong but the batch mix percentages that you were talking about only apply if the bleach is 100%, not the typical 12.5%. While we’re on the topic, when using a proportioner, when you want a 50/50 (6.25% sh) mix and you water is wide open with the same size piping and valve as the water, if your water is at 5gpm do you want your sh at 5gpm too or are they both at 2.5 gpm for a combined 5gpm in the outlet pipe?
@PressureCleaningSch3 жыл бұрын
If it’s a 100 gallon tank and I mix 70 water 30 of bleach then it’s a 30% mix. 30% of tank is bleach. I don’t really care if it’s 10% or 12 1/2% to me it’s a 30% mix that’s why I go off of.

Hey Doug, What's the most reliable, 12v, Air, or booster? And what gives you the most distance? Thanks!
@PressureCleaningSch3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I’ve them all, and had then 2 and 3 times. Every time I always went back to Air diaphragm Because I would get frustrated with the other ones I just always found air diaphragm to be the most dependable and reliable with least amount of headaches. So I’m pretty much stuck with it for the last few years.
@PressureCleaningSch3 жыл бұрын
As for distance I would say they’re all about the same except the gas operated systems will give you a little bit more distance but not a whole lot just because of the amount of volume it can pump. However the gas operated gave me the most amount of headaches issues of any.

Something I don’t quite understand… If you mix your bleach in the bucket as you want it applied, how is that mix not being diluted with the water from the pressure washer which is siphoning it through the X Jet valve? I can’t understand how this this not being further diluted.
@PressureCleaningSch2 жыл бұрын
It is but not as much as downstreaming. I just talk about how I consider it. When you buy the x jet not modified there is an instruction manual that will tell you the ratios according to the GPM of your machine. It’s also on our web site.

Hey Doug, I want to first say thank you for your videos, very Informative. I'm looking at starting my business in soft washing, but also wanting to have the versatility of cleaning siding, roofs, and driveways, fences etc. Would you recommend going with a pressure washer and just down streaming to soft wash the house, or would the soft wash dedicated pump have enough pressure to be able to clean concrete driveways and objects that need the pressure? Also, I was wondering if you think having a hot water pressure washer system is worth the extra cost? (if I decide to buy a pressure system) thank you sir for your time.
@PressureCleaningSch2 жыл бұрын
Just a pressure washer and downstreaming is fine. Soft wash system won’t have enough pressure for cleaning concrete or brick. Hot water is not really needed for house washing. Only need hot water for grease, oil, gum, graffiti etc.

Pardon my ignorance but, why does a dedicated pump perform better for bleach mix than the pump and injector on a pressure washer? I’m unclear why the pressure washing setup can’t do what a dedicated pump does. If a dedicated pump is better because of not using a downstream injector, then why not just use your pressure washer as a dedicated pump? I mean essentially, isn’t a pressure washer sucking water and pumping it out the other end? Can’t you just suck out of a batch mix with it and pump it out the other end?
@PressureCleaningSch Жыл бұрын
A dedicated pump simply allows you draw or use a stronger mix ratio than what downstreaming can achieve.
