ToddFun.com production: Presto Burger 1974 revisited
Lets go back to 1974 and revisit my childhood making my first home cooked meal.
My mother had gotten a Presto Burger single-patty hamburger cooker for Christmas 1974 so I got to learn how to make my own hamburgers at the young age of 7.
Yes I did burn myself as I explain in the video. Enjoy the eBay purchased trip down memory lane with me.

Great video. I was also 7 in 1974 and made Presto Burgers. Mom still has it. If only we could smell the burger you were cooking. That was my favorite part!

So good I know. Funny my son wanted Presto Burgers yesterday when you posted this comment. We still use it about once or twice a month. We butter up the hot pan top and bottom and then fry for 2.5 minutes. Perfect every time. And the dog goes nuts because she knows when we are done making burgers we'll pour the juices in the catch pan over her dog food.

Let me know how it works. Maybe the cord is just degraded over time being exposed to grease. If you are cleaned will before storing that shouldn't happen.

I have the dominion version of this, it was endorsed by some football player back in the 70's and yeah it makes awesome burgers. Basically perfect for college or apartment people, makes nice toasted sandwiches too flip the plate over and it's flat on the back. Found at savers for 8 dollars and I use it all the time.

I remember seeing these in 2 and maybe 4 burger count. We only had the one count but it was normally just me and my sister making lunch for ourselves on Saturday mornings after watching cartoons so it worked out great.

That was me too, until we got the presto burger. Well, we never had the Chef, that was spending upper class canned food in my house. HA. We had mostly home canned food goods, which was very good, and powdered milk (yuck). Back then it was because we were poor. Nowadays you have to be rich to get such good canned good. HA. crazy.

Cute video... It's ironic as I just found an old 2-patty model. I wish I could have put a thermometer in your 2-minute burger... So after you finish your burgers let's go out and play with the Lawn Darts...

I used to love presto burgers! I was about 8yo in ‘74 myself so it brings back great memories. I am wondering, when you find old stock that is still in brand new condition, does it still cook just as good as a brand new unit would have back then? Also, I noticed you mention that you cook your burgers for about 2.5 minutes. Is that without flipping the burger and just leaving it on one side in the cooker? I am going to try to find one of these myself on eBay.. Thanks so much for posting!
@ToddFun
@ToddFun 7 ай бұрын
NOS cooks just as good. you don’t flip the burger. Plug it in and let it heat up for three minutes, grease both sides with real butter stick. Put a rounded Patty in the press and close cooker for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes and then it’s done.

not much in the manual. Just put a patty in and you’re good to go. I let it warm up for about two minutes when it’s good and hot I butter both side. Then I cook the burger for 3 1/2 minutes. Then I let it reheat before I do the next one.
