“Done that” “Died the way he chose to die” 30 years later, he still can’t say suicide or killed himself. Kurt was his best friend. Krist truly loved him. They were best friends, but there last interaction was a fight, with Kurt’s last words to him being “fuck you”. I really wish they made up and Kurt stayed around. If he saw what it would do to Krist he would have never done it.

That story about Krist looking for a left handed guitar every time he passed a pawn shop shortly after Kurt died is one of the most heartbreaking things I've heard

It's surprisingly common, death isn't something rational to people. We can't fully grasp then idea of someone just going away, just disappearing, it's an odd idea for our brains. My mother lost her mother in a transit accident, and years laters she was still thinking about buying her kitchen items, just to be reminded that she was not there. Same happened to Krist, and it's really sad, one second he was at the top of the world jamming with his best friend, the next one, his best friend is gone, it's easy to see why it took Krist son long to fully process it

The most underrated bass player in rock history... over Shadowed by two huge rock stars in Kurt and then Dave. He had some pretty complicated baselines that dance around Kurtz simple chords. Underrated. Very humble and clearly proud of Dave Grohl to anyone who ever thought he was jealous

Just imagine founding an high school band and when you're 15 with your best friends and just playing a lot of random shit cause you have anything else to do...and then you're band became better and recognize on his local scene...and a couple of years later that ting that you creat with your friend became the most popular band in the world in a couple of months and everybody wants to sounds like you, to looks like you...all the rock and social culture of an entire young generation around the world is gravitating around you're band...You're the new Elvis, the new Beatles, that one in a million band who succeed to reach the higher step....and then it all stop THAT WAY. Man this is heartbroking, big respect and love for Krist !

Poor Krist still carries the weight of the loss around with him. Whenever I see him with Dave I get the feeling that they love eachother a lot, but there's also a lingering sadness because them being together reminds them that Kurt isn't here.

It's so painful how he can never bring himself to say "suicide" or "killed himself". Listening to Krist talk about Kurt is different than Dave because they were friends and band mates longer and grew up in the same place. There's a stronger connection.

I have always said his death has affected Krist more than anyone else even more than Kurts mother sister wife or child. Sadly, we see that same synamic recently between Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins... speaking as someone who lost his bandmate who was also my highschool best friend to a drug overdose couple years ago... The Band of Brothers Best friend...two cogs of the ssme wheel connection we had was impenetrable. Thank god we completed a demo. Putting something together for his daughter before publication. Krist has a very visible hole in his soul and is still very much full grief. The manner in which he defelcts and avoids, says it all.

I think about this often. It's difficult to articulate but there's something beautiful about it. When you're that close to someone and have a long shared history, being angry at that person doesn't mean you don't love them or that you aren't friends. It's kinda taboo to so plainly state that someone should not have committed suicide, but he goes directly there every time, even though it kinda derails interviews and makes people uncomfortable. He still expects Kurt to hold up his end of the friendship. I think it's a fair expectation of brothers. He has every right to never accept what happened and to judge Kurt for it. In some way, it keeps the friendship alive.

Around 6:00 he talks about being in his 40s and looking at Kurt, who is still in his 20s, and I think of that all the time. I was a teenager when Nirvana got huge, and to me, they were so cool, and adult, and Kurt was already married and had a baby… Now that I’m in my 40s, and have a kid in her 20s, I look back and see them as big, goofy, kids. 😂 It’s really weird to outlive people you admired and thought of as “the grownup in the room.”

Nirvana were and still are my favourite band of all time. When Kurt died I'd been 16 for less than a week and actually cried when I heard it on the news. I'm now 45 and that was the only time where someone I'd never met passing away moved me to tears. Kurt and Nirvana had an impact on more lives than I think they could comprehend.

The truest window in what it’s like to grieve is when Krist says that he would notice left-handed guitars at shops for years after Kurt died. It’s such an ingrained behavior that he couldn’t stop even though it only reminded him of his friend’s death. You never get over losing a loved one. It gets easier to live with over time, but that’s all. It’s never gone. It’s always there.

Kurt died in a garden shed in 1994, depriving himself of another 60 years of life, living, experiences, music, artistry, joy and sorrow, the human experience. It was stupid and selfish.

I don't think he was murdered, but then I remember there is hundreds of millions of dollars worth of royalties on the line. These aren't pennyroyalties. However, at the time Cobain likely didn't know that part about the hundreds of millions. He was probably thinking maybe 25 million dollars was there, and I'm sure he did want his daughter taken care of. He should've just waited it out and took a break, extreme suicidal feelings will pass. Unless Love knew a divorce, disbandment, and writing out of the will was imminent. It didn't seem like Cobain had the energy for that kind of thing to bother with a divorce right then.
