Some extreme closeup shots would really help these kind of tutorials. The overheads are a little distant! Keep up the good work Des.

Thanks for the tips Des. I've been toying with the idea of casting off the braid with a mono rig length for a while, definitely going to be trying it out now. Also nice to hear your happy using 0.12 braid,I'm not comfortable using anything finer,probably a confidence thing.

Great idea especially when its cold and fingers are dead ,can you tell me is the braid or the mono through your top ring of the rod when casting

Greetings from Romania and thank you for the advice! I have a question about the braided loop. If we can change it at any time the mono thread,because we have it on the spool, when do we make a new loop on braided thread,for safety? Thanks again and stretched threads!🐟🐟🐟🐟

Yeah Preston does this all the time I am new to fishing so don’t no a lot so I look into a video to show me how to go on all I get from Preston vids is how great the fisherman is and how great he can fish rubbish what I won’t from Preston is how to put the equipment on my line and get me to a position where I can use your equipment so do a rethinking of how you do your vids your equipment is very good try and get your vids to do them the justification they deserve

Thanks Des, would you recommend using a feeder link on the running rig to create a bit of a paternoster rig?

For the free running rig, I like to use the quick change swivels in the loops at then end to prevent spinning of the line when reeling in especially with skimmers. Also I like to add an extra stop above the feeder bead so I can make it a fixed rig if needed to smaller fish like dace hook themselves against the feeder... What's your thoughts on this Des?
@leebh86073 жыл бұрын
I use the same setup most of the time.
@brentownsend14142 жыл бұрын
Hi dess.i followed your example a d when I cut the line at 30 inch then make my loop it's coming out shorter than 30 Inch.also I'm finding I'm having to place a small stoz at the loop that connects the the braid loop to stop the swivel bead coming of over the knot when placing the rig on my foam spool .any help appreciated pal .cheers 👌

Hi Des think your brilliant, and explain everything to a t, but have you actually watched this back, your not actually showing anything to the camera, luckily I know the rigs your making, but anyone new to feeder rigs are going to struggle, which is a shame, because as I said, you explain everything so brilliantly, hope you don't mind constructive criticism

Hi all, I guess anyone could get my question answered here as i believe this channel is watched mostly by match anglers. Is there any difference in the lenght of that leader? I see Des makes it about 30inches long but from some reason my local anglers told me some time ago that it was better going longer when using braid - about twice or three times longer. Is there any reason behind that? Or what is the difference?? Got into fishing just a year ago so sorry if this sounds basic :)
@neilcoyle22853 жыл бұрын
At distance fishing it reduces the risk of cracking off if you use a longer leader.

Des your a incredible angler however this rig is a guaranteed disaster for broken quivers in my eyes ,put me in a match with you and you’ll catch ten while I’m thinking about it 🤣🤣but sorry a disaster in the making in my eyes longer shock leader every time 🥴🥴

Poor Des. Try it on a table with the camera above you full stop so folk can see what your doing. Background is cluttered and spoils the demo.
