Simple Feeder Rig Setup with Reusable Twissled Boom. Some time ago, I did a video covering how to set up a feeder rig using a twissled boom. The whole thing was set up on the bank and it worked very well, but it took longer to set up than I wanted. Since then I have been looking at ways to make the rig simpler and quicker to set up, so I came up with the variation shown in this video.
The new feeder rig incorporates the use of a Pre-Tied Twissled Boom which has the added benefit of being tied in the warmth of your own home instead of trying to tie it with freezing cold hands on the bank. It also means that the twissled boom can be re-used time after time.

Yep, going to use this set up, like it. Simplicity is king. Arthritis in hands the plague of dexterity. I take 1 capsule daily of turmeric & rub olive oil into the affected joints its not a cure, but it really helps to keep things supple.

I do exactly the same. But I use a Drennan swivel stop bead in medium size. This is then a neat set up, that protects both the swivel, and the 4 turn half blood knot, and kicks out the twizzled boom. I keep my pre tied booms on a thin strip of soft wood held in place with hook length spool pins, at the loop, on the end of the twizzled boom, and the pertruding end of the Drennan swivel, (where the boom is tied to) By so doing, this keeps the pre tied booms lovely and straight, and illiminates the risk of any tangles. The booms are 6 inches long made out of 8lb mono, and the hook length loop, or attached quick change swivel hangs below the feeder. Perfect tangle free free running set up, showing up the shyist of bites.

Brilliant. Thanks for that Den - a great idea. Like you I have arthritis in my left hand and my right hand doesn't add much to my overall dexterity following a stroke so this tip is perfect and gives me an excuse for making more tackle at my desk.

Thanks Paul. Just make sure you get the knot on the twissled bit really closed up tight, otherwise it can come apart.

@@FishingwithDen hi Den yes I realised after watching the video until the end that the how to part was there all along. I’ll put it down to my being nearly asleep when watching😂. I’m only starting to have a go at fishing again after a ten year gap due to health reasons and really enjoy watching your videos, being a lad from the Cambridgeshire fens and being brought up on Bream, Tench and Pike fishing find your explanations of things really easy to follow. Keep up the good work👍👍👍

I'm wondering if I could use an American snap swivel on the main line to attach the boom onto for quickness? Or would that make it to slack!

@@FishingwithDen hi. I sorry to bother you but how often do you rebuild your rig ? I caught about 8 big tench with quiet good fights and I can see that monolit line starts to twist on its own
@FishingwithDen
@FishingwithDen Жыл бұрын
@@MartinTeerly I assume you mean the mainline is twisting Marcin, not the twissled boom. Personally, I don't change mine until I can either see or feel that the line has been damaged. As a best practice however, It's probably a good idea to rebuild the rig at the start of the next session.
