I review, breakdown and explain Presumed Innocent episode 4. I discuss the Apple TV+ show which stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Rusty Sabich as he's accused of the murder of his colleague Carolyn Polhemus. I react to Kyle being photographed outside Carolyn’s house, Tommy planting evidence, Barbara being a suspect and theories around who the true killer is. I also compare the story to the 1990's movie which starred Harrison Ford and the novel from the 1980s. I also give my theories and predictions on episode 5.

The kid, hers, said that he left after Rusty entered her house that night. So he wouldn’t have seen someone else enter. The dna matching could mean it’s his son depending on what type of test they did

Crime of passion is usually done by out of control rage and Tommy is out of control to get Rusty. He is the killer.

And it is to obviously that they try to trick us. They show us a scene where he remembers mixed back with a fantasy of how it could have happened. Even the last scene where he beats the guy should mislead us.

I think you’re completely off about his wife. I think the prosecutor whose prosecuting him is the one that killed his mistress. I also think that he was sleeping with her and she dumped him think about it.

I think it’s the medical examiner. Why is he behaving so erratically all the time? He can commit the perfect crime and frame anyone. Or the psychiatrist lol. She gets the inside scoop about everything and anyone. Maybe Rusty had a thing with her too.

I agree. All the lawyers can't stand him. I think she didn't find out about the 2nd males DNA until after she prosecuted that other guy, and she was going to get him fired for that.

My gut tells me his wife did it and I knew this the minute they introduced her. They had violent sex but the show is piling the evidence on so thick that is it obvious that someone else did it.

There’s no way of knowing if he was really drunk tho, with no blood work that only HIS version (unless I missed something and they have proof live CVTV footage or the bar bill) Could be only a cop out for him not remembering what happened that night

I’m trying so hard to not watch the movie with Harrison Ford so the show isn’t ruined. I think Dusty Rusty is the killer! If not I think that’s the way the writing should go.

I could have really done without the shoehorned scene “sometimes I think you forget our son is black“. The lead DA is half black, the lead suspect is white, the son is not a suspect, and the entire thing just feels so forced besides the narrative being defunct, because it’s not even on the table. It sounds almost like they’re mocking the concept.

Just because the lead prosecutor is black doesn’t mean systemic racism magically ceases to exist . It’s ignorant comments like this why it’s so important to point out. The fact that current statistics state that *INNOCENT* black people are convicted at 7 times the rate that whites are should tell you this.

This series is slow, very slow. The two actors Rustie and his wife are they in the same series? There is no connection whatsoever. The original was so good.
