Very good modern update of classic Warner Bros gangster films of the Thirties. John Erickson was pretty charismatic as the infamous 'Pretty Boy' Floyd. Bonus points y in having Peter Falk (pre-Columbo) and Al Lewis (pre-Grandpa Munster) as two of many solid actors in the cast were the most memorable & brief characters.

Had a look for it in my usual places and via the web. But could not find a single reference or mention of any film named 'Delirium Tremens' 1949. So who was in it. Who wrote or directed it. Made by which film studio? Or any info which may narrow the search.

Not a bad movie if you can get over the obvious mistakes , his Thompson in the 30 s should have a drum magazine. His Hill Billy friend shooting up 2 barrels of water in Oklahoma is a joke. A the water , precious ,B the barrels themselves. That's just the start but to those who don't care about reality , it is entertaining for the Drive Ins of the time.

Yep, i’ve just made similar comments about another fight movie. It frustrates me and spoils the film as it’s not hard to do a bit of research and make it realistic. The fight scenes are a joke too if you know anything about boxing

Erikson was very good as Floyd. Well worth watching. It always amazed me all these stickup men in the Kansas City area at this time never bothered trying to disguise their identity, resulting in such notoriety they always got caught. All those pictures in the papers certainly came at a high price in the end!

If you are unaware of who Alvin Karpis is, learn; it's here on YT. People complain about the leniency of today's American criminal justice sentencing. Karpis committed several gratuitous murders of law enforcement officers, kidnappings, bank & train robberies, ect.ect. and was only sentenced to ~35 years in prison. He was released and deported to Montreal and later moved to Spain. He commented often on how he was treated with respect in Canada by Canadians. He was also romanticized by Americans, not by Hollywood, based off of dry newspaper stories of his crimes. Deplorables have existed long before Donald Trump became their current figurehead.
