One of the things I find most delightful about people I know well is when they do or say something that is SO who they are, it makes me smile. Your repeated phrases give me that same, comfortable, easy feeling. It doesn’t matter that I know very little else about you. Those repeated phrases make you seem like an old friend. I have a few favorites (Commence to removing this tennon, Left hand on the switch right hand on the gouge, As soon as I get my mask on). Familiar is good. Then when you throw in “it’s sanding sealer, DUH,” I laugh out loud. If you change your presentation I’d miss those things, but you do you, and if you’re bored with yourself, we’ll adapt. 🥰 Thanks for your terrific content every week!

PLEASE continue to talk us through what you are doing!! Sure, I've seen and heard it before, but reminding is always helpful. When I first started watching your videos, I was wintering in Yuma, Arizona, so I didn't have my wood lathe with me. So when I got home, I watched more and could go right to my lathe and practice! Also, there will be some new viewers, and they would need to listen, watch, and learn from you. We "older" viewers can still learn! A side note: I have discovered that with shellac, you can add an additional coat, and the shellac will fuse with the former coat, and not just add a new coat on top of the old. That's why you can keep your brushes for so long--the shellac just softens the old shellac on the brush, and it all blends together. And be assured that I do like the shape that you made. It is beautiful wood, and a beautiful bowl, as well!😊

Hey Phil, so glad that you eventually came 'round to liking this piece. It looked for a moment as if you were going to be sad and disappointed with something that is actually quite nice. :-). The slightly unusual color and the dark spots on the wood make it visually interesting. It will be interesting to read other people's comments about going over many of the same steps in each turning. To long-time viewers, the repetition might be dull, but to new viewers, the information could still be valuable. In any case, thank you for another fun video and thanks to Tuffy for sending the wood. P. S. The notion of celebrating your birthday by giving something to someone else, (as Tuffy seems to have done), sounds intriguing.

There is comfort in routine and tradition. Those of us who have watched you for a long time know that you will teach techniques, safety, and creativity as you turn your works of art, so that no matter who is watching, those good messages will be heard. What a shame if a new viewer didn't have a chance to understand the wood worm screw, or see the sand o flex smoothing bark, or watch the magical removal of the little nub. Nice bowl, Phil. Don't change anything you do. You just be you. You didn't get to 64K subs because we're tired if hearing you. If anyone doesn't like it, they don't have to watch. Besides, any new viewers will have the chance to hear you and appreciate your commentary. Bill

Very nice bowl. Like the character in the grain and dark areas. Like that’s it has a low glaze finish. 👍

Well, I for one, liked it from the start. A beautiful 'interpretation' of a traditional form. I love it!

I love the fact that you have helped me learn how to turn the tenon off When I fist started. I like to hear people explain things whenever I'm learning something new. So keep doing what you do Phil, and happy turning my friend ☺️
