Crochet Baby Pumpkin Hat Tutorial

This cute little crochet baby pumpkin hat tutorial is the perfect project for a beginner. It's rolled brim and sweet stem and leaves gives it style yet keeps construction easy.
This hat is crocheted using single crochet from the top of the crown to the base of the hat. Then rolls at the base adding a little extra warmth around the ears where it is needed.
This sweet unisex crochet pumpkin hat includes five sizes newborn through adult. This pattern is very flexible and looks great as an apple, plum and more.

6.5 mm hook
50-75 grams of worsted weight
(I used Bernat Super Saver In Pumpkin)
Tapestry Needle
Stitch Markers
GAUGE
Using 6.50 mm hook worsted weight yarn
12 sc and 13 rows - 4 inch square

I love this little pumpkin hat! I do have two questions that you may have mentioned. in the video but I didn't catch it. when you continue the pattern around you say to count your stitches each time...how many stitches should you have each round? And, my second question is, can you increase the size of the hat say for a toddler - 3 year old - if so how do you adjust? thank you!!

If I’m only at 2 inches with 40 stitches can I do one more increase round to fix this?

You certainly can but this hat increases very quickly so you're beginning rounds won't be as big as if you were increasing say by six stitches per round. I'm so sorry for the long response time. I hope that you got it figured out. Thanks so much for being here.
