0:40 this song is often played by Germany but also it is played by the Chilean army. Which by the way still practice the Prussian tradition and has a lot of heritage. The world may have dismantled and forgot about the kingdom of Prussia and the German empire, but when I have had a military training under a Chilean platoon commander AND this was played in my parades, I will never forget this song and will always have a place in my heart. I am Saudi Arabian from the Ajman tribe our nickname is the “Germans of the Arabs” because of our militaristic nature and how proud we are of ourselves. It is sad to see that modern day Germany threw away most of the Prussian traditions.

Anyone else notice that after the introduction, the main part of the song has a bass drum beat of 1 - - 1- - 111. Lots of other German marching songs have that, is that just a thing with them?
