Interesting. I know this helps stabilize the 360 but having it connect directly to the TM shaft, if you hit TM motor hard and it flexed.....wouldn't it break the 360 shaft? How has Ben your experience? I only asked because I was looking up a similar product, AMP 360 brace or sum'n...similar to this one. Guys had their 360 shaft break because the TM shaft flexed and broke 360 shaft from the attachment point.
@MoneyBass2 жыл бұрын
I haven't had any issues with the installation of the support bracket. I would ask what did they do to cause the trolling motor shaft to flex enough to break? Sounds like that was "user error". There are plenty of ways to accidentally break items on boats but I try to make adjustments to my routine based on the equipment I have chosen. I've heard that installing a support bracket could void the warranty so it's best to consider the pros and cons of any accessories added to your boat. Hope that info helps.

Thanks for checking with Humminbird. When I did I get a different answer. Sorry for the confusion. I have ordered the same one. How do you plan to mount the mega live? I saw a couple of video’s where they mounted it to a Separate stick beside to 360.
@MoneyBass3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the clarification. I cant find our original post. I will mount it on the trolling motor first then decide if i will mount it separately. I would like to be able to use spotlock and still use live imaging without it limiting the use of spotlock.

Does the bushing make any noise when the TM spins? Does it leave any scuff marks on the TM shaft? Do you know if the bushing spins on the shaft or inside the mounting bracket? Thank you in advance!
@MoneyBass3 жыл бұрын
Great questions. It doesn't make any noise that I'm aware of. I haven't had it long enough to know if it leaves any scuff marks. Maybe putting electrical tape on it would prevent that from being an issue. I think the trolling motor spins inside bushing. I will keep an eye on it and hopefully can answer that questions better in the future. I'm sure their customer service at Boatlogix can give a definite answer. Hope that helps.

It's a great design and I'm almost convinced however I'm just worried about grass being caught and hitting stumps. Not saying that's going to always be the case but there are what if's.

I like the look and it is very sturdy. The way it bounces around in rough water made me a little nervous that I could damage the transducer. Some have said that adding the brace can void the warranty because it is designed to flex.

Getting ready to buy a 360 but i plow through alot of grass and lillypads. Im wondering how that transducer will hold up if im constantly in grass....

I use my 360 in grass and Lilly pads. It shows contours and paths through the grass. There is a forum Humminbird Tips and Tricks on Facebook that you can search through to get input from others in their experience. I have a brace on my 360 and I also avoid hitting hard structure like lay downs with it. Thanks for supporting the channel.

Used the BoatLogic mount on my last boat, (Vexus AVX 1880)... amust have for the 360....Both Cornfield & Precision make one $100 cheaper! ... BFE is making a "dog bone" mount with bushings on both ends for The Rite Hite motor pole & different trolling motors; Ultrex, Ghost, etc....hoping they (or someone else) makes one for the TargetLock.

I am concerned that such a bracket might void the 360 warranty. Evidently the play you notice is supposed to happen in order to transfer the load of movement (flex) to the entire arm. With such a support bracket the flex is removed which significantly increases the chances of breaking the transducer head off. And even if the unit is out of warranty, if the transducer should break off, replacing it would cost a fortune. I tend to think that if such a bracket was required, Humminbird would have included it in the package. Even in your demonstration in rough water, the transducer never got close to hitting the trolling motor shaft which could present a damage problem. The other issue is $229 for this BoatLogix mount. Another thinner one is also sold by another company for half the cost. I'll play it safe and leave the 360 as Humminbird made it. To me, it was well engineered by Humminbird.
@MoneyBass2 жыл бұрын
You are correct. It is definitely a judgment call and you should proceed with what makes you feel comfortable. I agree with the warranty info also. I read that someone had their warranty voided and l've read where someone out of warranty wish they had it. I noticed some lines in my 360 readings that I thought may have been contributed to the violent shaking in rough water. There are definitely other options available. I purchased this one prior to seeing the option you are referring to. Thanks for your detailed information. I appreciate you supporting the channel!

@MoneyBass3 жыл бұрын
@@CoreyGFishing would you happen to know the wording on the paper? I want to ensure we are providing accurate information because there are a lot of guys reading the comments for information. There was a similar comment made previously. I called Humminbird tech support and they checked with a supervisor for confirmation. They were not able to find anything in their records that stated that a stabilizer causes any issues with the 360 transducer. Once I provided that information the person removed their comment and said they were incorrect. Does that orange paper you have specifically say "any stabilizer will void the warranty"?
