That was me! Also worth greasing the nut and bolt well when you reassemble, and checking the bolt wear as we've also had the bolt head snap off... Although noticed that before the mast broke!

Yes, your experience was certainly the inspiration here. I was thinking if I snap my mast i'd probably have to sell the rest of the boat - so best check it! See you in Rimini this year?

On my NACRA F18 the diamond wires are attached to a brass block. The adjusting screw is threaded through the center.

Hey Joe, watched all sorts of your videos! they are epic! thanks so much! question for you tho, I have been trying to setup my hobie 16 solo (watched your video!) and at the end you said you gotta take out the gate pins so the mast can turn! I can't seem to get my pins out! there is too much pressure on the gate still 😯ive checked forums and can't figure it out! any advice would be greatly appreciated! keep up the great videos!
