As the lady below just said, you gave me the EXACT info I needed so much. Thank you! WHEW! Couldn't understand why in the world I was getting all those ugly lines. Am off to order the pillows now. Thank you, Angie, for ALWAYS doing things the RIGHT WAY and not short cutting things or leaving out important details. Think for all the crafters out there, you are in my top 2 favs! Angie, the heat press pillows on Amazon are of brownish cover instead of white. Would that affect the outcome once pressed, meaning turning shirt yellowish?

In my view. Your best video so far! Many people are doing / trying all the tips from many KZbin videos. But I am sure many watch a video then go and try it that way. I do. And we have seen many video's about the pillows etc. But we all have different machines and we have to adjust things and try again and again until it's right. But they are NOT that many video's like this that help us over come some of the problems we all get. So thank-you for this video.

When I used to get press marks on blankets which shows even more than shirts, I would literally press the rest of the blanket and then no press marks. Years later, I found pressing pillows and Vapor foam. But even though it took extra time, it did compress all therefore making the press marks go while flattening all. Hope that makes sense.

I have heard you were not supposed to use Teflon with sublimation. But the pillows are OK to use? I get lines from my paper, sometimes tape, and my press. The last shirt, I sublimated, I had three different lines on it. Will this take care of everything? I am new, so still learning. Thank you. I’m assuming I had too much pressure. So I will definitely follow your advice. Thank you so much for the video.

Thank you for the great video! My press marks are grey for some reason. I used my sawgrass printer and used a Teflon sheet on top of my design but it was too small so I have dark grey lines where the Teflon sheet did not cover. But my question is where the Teflon sheet was covering the design I have a light grey shadow in the shape of my heat press. What does that mean? I did 385 degrees F for 50 seconds. Maybe my settings were incorrect?

When using iron-on vinyl, is the only option to make sure the vinyl hangs over the pillow, because you can't tear the carrier sheet?
@AngieHolden
@AngieHolden 3 жыл бұрын
Correct. Only option is to use a pillow, foam, or mat under your design. Making the pillow larger than the design but smaller than the carrier sheet would be ideal in that situation.

I haven't tried the Cricut pad but it should work. The only issue is sizing as I explain here how you want a pad of a certain size for each item you are making.

Great video as always ... You could make a video using Easysubli paper on your EPSON printer ... my printer is the same as yours, however when I used easysubli on my printer the printing was not good, in fact it was very bad ... so my option was: First I just printed Easysubli on my shirt, and then I sublimated it on the easy paper that was on my shirt ... then it worked ... but printing directly on easysubli paper didn't work right ... if you can think about it it would be great ... thanks ... love your videos

@@OG_Beckie_Leigh That's right, for what I researched so that the printing is perfect we need to use the Sawgrass printer ... because they have the appropriate color profile ... however in some videos of Siser itself it says that we can use any type of printer ... How do I prevent the press marks if I am using infusible ink sheets and not paper? and also if I am using a 100% poly red shirt..not white? help!
@AngieHolden

Just so you realize that the red will show through the infusible ink. The pillows I show here will still work. Otherwise, you can leave more area around the transfer sheet or try trimming it close.

Hi Angie, Thank you for another great video. I can't wait to try this. I was wondering what temperature you were pressing at and for how long. I'm brand new to sublimation. I've made a few things so far and have gotten press lines on some. I'm still trying to figure out how long to press and temperature setting. A lot of the things I've bought don't provide that information. The only recommendations I have is what is on the A-Sub paper box.
@AngieHolden

That is all you have to go off of really. First would be what the blank supplier recommends. Second would be the back of the paper box and trial and error.

Did you leave them sit a bit and see if the color came back? Or try washing them? You can also cover the ENTIRE area with butcher paper to see if that helps.

@@AngieHolden I ordered the pressing pillows and tried them out today. I am still getting lines on my shirts. I tried adjusting the pressure of my heat press, but still got lines. The top part and the left side are where the heat press is leaving lines on my shirts. I put the two shirts in the dryer to see if that would help take out the lines, but sadly it did not. Do I need to try to calibrate the heat press by adjusting the springs on top where the pull down handle is at? I have an older model heat press that got passed down to me. The model is Homcom 15x15. If you have any suggestions on what would help me, I would gladly appreciate it!

@@AngieHolden It seems to be adjusting the bottom part more than the sides or the top. I tried a few more shirts a little bit ago and still getting the marks. I have lessened the pressure, then it is too loose and my design doesnt press all the way. (Some shirts have a rustic/vintage look to them now, which is kinda nice), but still has the marks. Then i tighten it back up, and same thing. I cannot find a happy medium and I am getting very frustrated with it. I am thinking of getting an Easy press maybe this weekend if I cannot get the heat press figured out.
