In Discovering Landscapes in Pastel, artist Margaret Evans guides you step by step to capture the highlands of Scotland both outdoors and from the studio. Margaret begins this workshop with several exercises on painting skies, trees and stonework, then helps you put all these elements together to paint three landscapes-a brightly lit landscape complete with billowing clouds, a charming cottage and lush fields; a lake scene with lovely reflections of trees and sky; and a farm nestled among the hills in a green valley. With every demo you'll learn to capture values, utilize different pastel strokes, blend and mix color, and more. In this preview from the full-length 72 minute film (showing now on artistsnetwork.tv), Margaret shows you how to paint a simple, moody landscape in pastel, with particular attention to creating a dramatic sky.

I wouldn't use Nasty to describe stormy weather, but Blustery would be more akin to an Autumn to Winter season painting...Don't you think?
