I do enjoy you're program very much and you're comments a lot , I have been wet shaving for 65 years already , not my face but my head and using now the MUHL 47R WITH FEATHER AND ASTRA BLADES and I take my time to do so and at this time of my life no nicks or cuts , not that they not happen but you can count with you're fingers and you won't get to 5 !!!!! I got a small sample tube of Fresco by surprise in my last order from PAA. What a great scent-refreshing and PERFECT for the summer. Also, the handle on today's brush reminded me of the rubber bouncy balls I used to win in pinball machines when I was a kid. Another satisfying shave as usual. God bless you, Ken!

Great shave Ken, I just got my G 1 Fatboy from ebay today. 14.00 shipped! I barely won it lol . I just used the victory shaving company's soap I bought Champaign Lady, lemon lavender and menthol. I never knew about Old Spice Fresh! Certainly something to look out for. PAA have been superb in replicating some of the older scents. I'm hoping to try their Lo Haiku - a representation of Hai Karate! I've enjoyed Stirling Spice and Barrister and Mann reserve spice - both great clones of Shulton Old Spice. A very enjoyable shave with some great products!

Great shave. Aside from the heat wave hitting the Pacific Northwest, for my area that’s part of the Midwest, it’s having nice upper 70s-lower 80s temps. However, it’s being forecasted to be gutted by storms. I’ll be alright and just keep looking out for the weather. Have a great day

Great shave Ken! I usually tub load, face lather; the exceptions being those really, really "soft" soaps/croaps. I had gotten a sample of this from Doug a few weeks back, and it is a total banger! No one does retro quite like Douglas (although I find it hard to believe he was "growing up" in 1988! :D ) Have a great time with your wife's aunt and happy hunting!

Howdy Ken! I remember that fresh formula from the 80’s. Very nice summer scent. You had me cracking up about the U.S. 🇺🇸 and U.K. 🇬🇧 flags on the 4th of July. 🤣🤣 I’m a bowl latherer unless it’s MWF and then I just use their bowl as it’s way to hard to scrap some into a lather bowl. I only use a bowl when I use soft soaps, and when the soap comes in small containers. Otherwise I just lather right in the tub. Great shave Ken!

I always use a bowl. It is more efficient, you use less soap for the same amount of good lather and of course the lather is done better and it is like nothing hard you know almost no plus time needed.

You know Ken I have an extensive shulton collection ranging from an unused full bottle from 1938, to modern and special bottles such as the ships lantern, ships wheel, light house etc, also fresh lime, burley, and musk….Fresh scent has eluded me and I have been looking for it big time as that would almost complete my shulton collection less Yorktown, night spice and blue stratos which are on my list and now will have to order this one from PAA….

Ken, Have you tried PAA Bailey's Irish Coffee Star Jelly and soap? I just got it and the scent is just so good I just ordered more. It smells good enough to eat, but I know better. It is available till the end of March. You can’t go wrong with this scent. I am not a drinker and don’t know what Bailey's Irish Coffee smells like but this is a great scent.

I spent $$$$’s with Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements and my last purchase I got cold spice and that stuff that smells like proraso green in the Ck/after shave combo and that crap was terrible. BOTH soaps. It would not lather NO matter what. I tried everything and every type of brush (trust me, I’m one of Rudy Vey’s best customers. I have every type of brush hair you can find). Bowl lather, face lather, hard water, soft water, bottled water, hot water, cold water, more water, less water, blooming the soap, It did not matter. It was so damn stringy and sticky. It would go on my face and the brush would pick it right back up because it was so damn sticky. Clogged my REX ambassador up pretty good too (Which is a high end luxury razor for a reason). 100% dumpster trash. Doug said because they have menthol it doesn’t mix correctly in the formula. I call bull crap because I have other soaps from them with menthol with no issues at all. I took a picture and sent it to the customer service department and they pretty much told me to kick rocks. I will NEVER do business with them again. I’ll stick to Stirling and Captains Choice. Its a shame. I really liked their beach and boardwalk soap. Oh well. They decided to lose a very very loyal customer because of a quality control issue, instead of making it right. Be careful what you order, because you might just have the same issue. Edit: I still have both crappy soaps and pictures if anyone wants to know how shotty PAA’s customer service is. Ill even ship it to you for free.

I'd suggest you try the Alcolado Glacial Mentholated Splash Lotion as an aftershave, it's a real wake up call and really freezes your face (so a really nice aftershave) + it's affordable!

Anxious to try this scent. With summer travel in progress I wanted to share a quick story of my experiences with the TSA. Long story short, pack your shaving essentials in a checked back or downsize your shave soap. My Captains Choice Nor’easter got confiscated and thrown away. Made it through one airport no problem, return airport nope. I had to check two bags of sports equipment and had enough room to pack my razor blades, but not my tin of soap. I didn’t see a difference between that and a bar of soap, but at any rate. I asked for a clarification from the TSA. The Agents have discretion to flag and pitch “anything” they deem a security threat. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Man after seeing how well he gets a lather and how I'm butchering my face I'm starting to think that Viking shave kit I got it just...bad. I'd avoid that viking revolution one on amazon if someone's looking at this wanting to get into wet shaving. The soap is bad, the razors are bad, really the only thing of any quality is the razor itself and the brush.

if ya want the best bang for your buck pick a kit from stirling they got big ol' 5.8 oz tubs of shave soap for 13-14 USD and have a ton of scents sure not as much srong scent as PAA but having tried both brands stirling does give quality soap n aftershave like PAA

The way I look at it, a 5oz. tub of PAA CK-6 soap costs $24.95 USD. I shave every 2 - 3 days. And one tub lasts me 4 - 5 months. I don't care if other soaps are $10 less. For just a few bucks a month, I want what will bring the most joy in terms of scent and performance. That's not to say there aren't other comparable soaps for less or a similar price. I also like Declaration Grooming and Ariana & Evans shave soaps.
