I really like Takom's kits. I have only built the Mk1 Heavy Battle Tank WW1 but I own the Mk IV Male Heavy Battle Tank. Takom is quickly becoming my go to model company in 1/35. The detail and quality of the kits is spectacular. I am thinking of either getting the Konigstiger with interior or the Panther G you just showed.

Hey Andy, they are not all American markings as such, "Cuckoo" was a captured Panther used by the British 4th Coldstreams Guards Armored Battalion

I believe that another Panther captured by the British was named "Deserter", and was captured by the 33rd, the Duke of Wellington's regiment - their regimental museum is very close to where I live so I should really go see if there are any clues there.

Nice looking but dont have patience or interest in link tracks with detatched guidehorns. Its kinda sad and cool that most manufacturers are going to such huge mounts of detail. I for one am not interested in so many parts. I like detail, but am happy with more of a balance like Academy shermans or Tamiya Tigers. Thanks for the review Andy. All the best!

Yep. Tamiya are catching up in detail, and now include excellent figures too, yet still retain the great fit and build quality they always had. I'll take a new generation Tamiya kit over one of these any day.

Rather similar system of working tracks is used by Academy for its more expensive versions of recent armor kits and it is super easy, but very time consuming to assemble. They have it even more complicated with each track consisting of three different parts (one track plus two pads) and in my experience on these kits it takes double the time to assemble the tracks only than to assemble the rest of the kit. These are basically track kits with extra free tank added in similar way how you get a motorcycle with some Tamiya WWII tanks. :-)

I finished building the Panther G early with zimmerit. This kit is not as good as those previous Takom Panthers. It's a little strange but when building it you can feel that Takom doesn't put their heart on it. The design is done great by the designer, but the molding by the factory is not good cause there are some obvious errors that didn't exist in the previous ones. Like the mantlet on 8:54, you can clearly see the mounting bases for the night vision are on the wrong side. And some instruction errors that don't exist in previous ones too.

Had to do a small update if anyone instrested amd have read my previous comments from from while back on here!? Well I Just bought this just to do cookoo the Zimmerit is the das werk resin been stuck on and then re Moulded! I have the extra Zimmerit sheets from das werk for there panther's the shape round the bottom Hull and damage is the same! It is what it is I'd have preferred it dragon like Zimmerit or blank so could do my own it's really not great in person it's quite embarrassing tbh! I know zims not perfect but this isn't even perfect for non perfect zim if you know what I mean? I love Takom kit's but they CANNOT do Zimmerit to save themselves! Das werk had the right idea with the basic panther kit's bringing out the extra Zimmerit resin sheets! Using gorilla pva glue with that sheet Zimmerit is just spot on! 👌 I have sheets spare.for the Ausf A I think I'm going to slice alot off and sand or melt with glue down what I can and redo it!

Heck, I'm not sold on that Panther... 'Realistic' it may be, but sometimes 'less is more' in small scale - hard to argue with realism when a 45 ton tank is in front of you, but a model... I'd 'calm' the 'realism' down just a little bit, for aesthetic purposes. The left side of the upper hull is an absolute horror story... BUT I'm sure valuing modelling aesthetics as well as realism won't stop angry replies to this comment.
