Fog of war is very tricky for board games to implement. It either has to be very cumbersome and trust-based or very limited compared to real fog of war. That's one benefit of digital/video games.

If Im not mistaken "The Hunt" translates into "Die Jagt" in german.

Thanks for the review! Looking forward to this one. One thing, though: The phrase "very unique" isn't grammatically correct. It's either unique or it's not. And few things in games are actually "unique" aka one-of-a-kind.

Anytime it's a prototype it's safe to assume they're subject to change. Often they don't, but we always lean on the side of change being possible.

Die Jagd - For the store; I would love to see a black, button-up short sleeved collared shirt with the TPA classic logo on the breast (small) and different/same design (large) on the back. Perhaps it's time to move beyond the standard tee shirt?

Nice review and the game looks great, but not playable solo so not for me. BTW jadg is German for hunt ( jagdpanther, fallschirmjager, etc.)

The best games can’t be played solo. If the player can be replaced with an automated system then often that’s a bad sign (but not always)

@@Quincy_Morris I hear you. I’ve played a bunch of two player games that work well solo, and a number of solo only games I’ve really enjoyed. I just know that a game that can’t be soloed will not get anywhere near as many plays for me so from a value perspective I tend to avoid them.

Really disappointed with this. Big drop in quality from watergate. It’s all determined by luck. Germans win on good rolls, (sinking ships fast) lose with bad ones. Never dumped more than one Event card as it’s better to hoard big numbers, and keep the plane working. so where is the decision space? That’s a design flaw. Plays on rails every game. Even start position of spee is on rails. Played 4 times. Each game strategy discussion was “I had higher rolls so I won” or “I had higher cards in battle phase so I won.” I did a playthrough video of this and game was 10 minutes long. I thought “ouch, this video will convince no one to buy it” It looks ridiculous when you watch it. But I decided to leave it because it shows you how there is zero tension and barely a step above battleship or ‘mensch argere dich nicht ‘ Who is this for? War gamers will hate the dice and light gamers will hate the theme. Even my wife, who loves light games that play fast thought it was boring, and she won twice. You either swear at the die or you win and say ‘Who cares? It was luck.” The best thing was that it included sleeves. Really surprised how you gave this a positive. Thought you were more hard core. Did you get paid for this review, or sent a game for free? The game is rightfully getting hammered on bgg ratings. Hopefully Kramer’s next two player game about Lenin redeems himself.
