Another reacter made the point that other Marvel trailers are built toward big bang moments, in a form of "fan-baiting", but this trailer doesn't do that. It's showing off what looks like a really damn good movie and great characters. This thing is a whole vibe, and I'm here for it.

If this trailer was made ~5 years ago, the big bad would have been revealed halfway through, and the rest of the trailer would be snippets from the final fight, culminating in a cliffhanger that spoils what other subplots are going on

I think the "fan-bait" moment would've been Sentry... But despite the teases and fans generally knowing who he is, they're still keeping that close to the chest in terms of how his character plays out in the film.

It's gonna be great when it's the post-credit sequence when Val is typing out like a memo header for new classified documents and she adds the asterisk to Thunderbolts, thinks a moment, and then on a new carriage return starts typing out the footnote as "DARK AV" and the screen goes black.

In the trailer at the end, that wasn't Bucky per se trying to attack them, look at the arm he's holding the gun with, the metal arm, that's the hand he uses when he's mind controlled. In the same way when I see a project in Jac Schaeffer's hands, at least by the trailer, and I could be biased because I am aimless and lost in life, but I feel like this trailer nails the tone of what I hope it is. It's like, they're not the A-Squad, they've never had the center stage, and they don't know what their role in the world is, and that can be the interesting catalyst for characters developing themselves into something more, transmogrification, transformation, maybe some make it and others don't. I didn't care for any of these characters but now I'm like "Let's see what you got"

For awhile, I was split on Jac's work, because I loved WandaVision, but I *hated* the Black Widow movie. Now that I'm loving Agatha All Along, it sparked me to look up Black Widow again, and I realized that Jac only wrote the initial script for it -- and then was replaced by someone, who in turn was replaced by someone else. I'm now telling myself that the mess of Black Widow was caused by all the replacements and rewrites, and I put my faith back in Jac 😁

I mean I could imagine when you face the craziest stuff around and then just have to... live afterwards life changes for you or just when things change and you accept them what else is there to look forward too? The avengers had each other and plainly the world always looked to them for more. The thunderbolts are expected to be anything more than trash. They aren't the big heroes so will they keep taking that or try to be something more even if it looks like many can't get along which will be fun

I would love a Red Guardian/Yelena Disney+ series. They were the best part of BW, and she was awesome in Hawkeye (her chemistry with "kid hawkeye" was fire!) Truly, it's her ability to have incredible chemistry with whomever is her costar at the time. I just love the way RG is written, and David's portrayal is perfection. Florence gives SO MUCH to Yelena and makes her FAR more interesting and compelling than she likely would be otherwise. So yeah, they are what's giving me the highest level of interest in this project and I would love to see them in more things, especially together.

Marvel has become so big and there are so many storylines that they can’t just come out with a bunch of films every year and it’s hard to go back to characters all the time. They have to tell stories. If there’s going to be an MCU then fans need to have patience.

Both the cast and the characters are pretty promising in this one. I really liked Wyatt Russell's John Walker, Bucky is my favourite Avenger right now, David Harbour should be good for some laughs, and of course Florence Pugh is going to carry. This has potential.

We get a grounded anti-hero action movie, from Jake Schreier, who is mostly known for his music videos and commercials, and the cinematographer who did You're Next and The Green Knight -- visually it's gonna be one of the best looking Marvel movies since Eternals. With a show like the Boys being out for 4 seasons. This movie is coming at the best time. This has "Boys" feel to it. I like it. And just fyi, Bob is Sentry. I suspect the asterisk is just because whoever is left aren't the Thunderbolts anymore, they are the Avengers (dark, but still), led by Sentry who might have a Hulk type attachment to Yelena.

I’m very much into this movie, it def fits the tone of the modern Thunderbolt comics. However, I am concerned this is going to get written off as just “Marvel Suicide Squad”. The fact that we know all these characters already is a really strong point in it’s favor, but I’m still kinda bummed that we’re not getting the original “villains masquerading as brand new heroes” premise. If Marvel could have kept that under wraps until it’s premiere it would have been wild, but it’s also kinda unrealistic.
