Also I just LOVE Yelena's outfit now - the white in BW didn't suit her at all, she looks way better in black. And the mix of Sam Fisher with Natasha [the vest!] gives her this really cool badass vibe.

@@HellfireComms yup! He ended up being the most compelling part of the show. Bucky could have been but they showed a redemption arc and then SIDELINED HIS ASS SO HARD. Imo he should have ended up being the new new captain America. Walker was interesting and showed why a normal man couldn’t fill the shoes. And falcon is a great dude. But think about it…captain gave the shield to falcon. A good guy who SPECIALIZES IN HELPING VETERANS DEAL WITH PTSD. BUCKY NEEDS HELP. BUCKY IS A SUPER SOLDIER AND THE LITERAL GUY STEVE USED TO LOOK UP TO. If anybody could have pulled the good, the self confidence and self worth to the surface of a broken super soldier who we know isn’t inherently bad, it’s falcon. It should have been about Bucky. And how we are who we choose to be. And how redemption is possible. It would have been infinitely more clever to have falcon and Bucky becoming friends, understanding each other, working through their shit, etc…that should have been the sneaky reason cap left the shield to falcon. Just as a placeholder because he knew he was actually leaving his best friend in the hands of a good man who could show him the way. It ended up being a show about racial issues and like was mentioned above, they squashed the plot line about a virus for obvious reasons so…it just seemed forced. Captain falcon was as last minute thrown together feeling as his costume at the end looked.

Jacques keeps this perfect line between naively sincere and knowingly sinister, it was weird at first but it is really growing on me. This is the show I was least interested in and I am genuinely, really enjoying it.

There were so many things I loved about this episode: -finally talking about the boomerang arrow. Right out of the comic just swapped who wanted it -seeing Hawkeye be badass without a bow. I was curious if they were going to do the coin stufff. -I didn’t think they’d do Yelena so soon! And so many other things. Definitely one of the best episodes so far.

So far, this is my favorite of the shows. I've liked them all for the most part and each show has something to offer, but my favorite stories are the human ones and goddamn if this isn't hitting on that every episode. I've cried or teared up since episode 1. It just makes me mad that we wasted Jeremy Renner in the films because that made people have such low expectations for this show and that is genuinely upsetting. He's an incredible actor and I'm glad this let's him shine. I love how this series is taking it's time without being inconsequential. The little moments matter, whether it's character building or things that come back later, it's easily the most cohesive of the bunch so far. It actually feels like one day at a time, which is how it's supposed to be. They could easily rush it, but they chose to sit in the stillness. I'm loving this so far and nothing feels unimportant. What a delight.

Clint said his best shot was the one he didn't take, meaning Nat. Then Kate didn't take the shot on Yelena. So they are definitely setting her up to be be good so I think she'll learn to not blame Clint. Also, I think Tony was kind of right when he thought Clint's family were all SHIELD agents to keep up a front. Laura was likely a SHIELD agent before.

That ending fight was so cool and so complex. Yelena grabs the zipline and shakes it, which gets Kate onto the roof, where she knocks her down and anchors her before tossing her from the roof, knowing she's anchored and safe. Yelena safely removes Kate and attempts to remove Echo, but her gear protects her from the Widow's Bite gauntlets. Kate shoots Echo, doing no damage due to her armor. Kate gets the drop on Yelena who gives a small shake of her head and Kate then allows her to escape using the same anchoring tech she used earlier to protect Kate. My insane fan theory here is that Kate and Yelena already know each other somehow.

I wouldn’t say they know each other. Yelena was just trying to get Kate and Echo out of the way because they weren’t her targets, Clint was. The head shaking idk, maybe she was annoyed or letting Kate know her fight isn’t with her, she took Kates hesitation as a chance to dip. She could’ve stayed and kept attacking Clint, but seeing how Kate wasn’t backing down she decided to leave to try again later I guess.

13:26 The watch is Hawkeye's watch. It tracked him as an Avenger so Tony could know where he was on a battle field. The tracking watch was used pre blip as Hawkeye and post blip as Ronan. Natasha knew where Hawkeye/Ronan was exactly in Avengers Endgame and found him in Japan and was in the exact spot Ronan was. Since that watch has pre blip and post blip information on the whereabouts of the wearer anyone that hacked the watch would know Hawkeye and Ronan are the same person, thus destroying Hawkeye as a hero and connecting him with vicious gang murders

I think Eleanor knows Val and called the hit on Clint Eleanor calls Val once Clint leaves, Eleanor calling Val and ordering that hit on him that Val gives to Yelana at the end of Black Widow. So in other words, the end scene in the cemetery in Black Widow is happening during episode 4. It was winter time in that scene and that would coincide with the weather during this episode.

Yeah, I'm betting Jack's cool, Eleanor's not. There's been clues: - biggest one: it's unclear how she dug herself out of super-debt. I can't remember if Bishop Security was the husband's company (how'd she turn it around?) or she founded it after his death (how'd she get the cash to start a new company?), but either way, they went from about to sell their home (plus, a dead parent and a hole through the wall) to super-rich again in about a decade - Armond being aggressive towards her and warning Jack about her, despite being close enough to the Bishops when Kate was young that he'd regularly have them over for breakfast - Eleanor using Kate's safety as a cover to tell Clint to drop the case entirely, rather than just ask him to keep her daughter away from his work. Theoretically, all she knows is the case is important enough for an Avenger's interest, but she still says to drop it? - swords all around the apartment. Didn't need the Ronin sword that Jack had at the time of the murder. - more speculatory, but if Jack were an actual bad guy, wouldn't he recognize a world-famous crime-fighter immediately and be scared Hawkeye's here to take him in or kill him? And thus attack first, come up with some "I thought he was a home invader, what a tragic accident" cover later? Like how Maya goes straight to attacking Kate in her apartment? (Notice how Eleanor ID's Clint immediately) Despite Jack being involved with the tracksuits (or maybe someone's using his name?), I'm betting it turns out he was a little sheltered from his family's dealings (and whatever Eleanor's been up to). It could be a parallel that helps him bond with Kate once Eleanor disappears from their lives for one reason or another.

If Kate's mom was only concerned with Kate's well being then why did she ask Clint to drop what he was working on? Huge red flag. And I agree that it seems unlikely that they will resolve Yelena's issues with Clint within this show - they HAVE to be setting up something else that they just haven't announced yet. In an interview, the Falcon/Capt America showrunner said when he visited Marvel Studios' offices he was shocked at how much unannounced stuff they were working on. ANNNNND... Kevin Feige wouldn't have said that Charlie Cox would play Daredevil at some point without having him under contract to do so - a working actor (as opposed to a star actor) at his level is constantly looking for roles if they aren't tied to something already, so if he isn't under contract with Marvel they could easily lose him to another production.

Hmmm, what you guys said about the beginning of the series with Kate's mum and the penthouse made me realise something - we never actually saw her father get killed. Kate kept calling her parents before the house was attacked and neither of them were answering. Maybe dear old mum saw the attack as a good way to get rid of him for a nice insurance pay out? Or he was an obstacle in her way of her criminal activities that needed to be removed? (Maybe the reason Kate's mum lives in that building ISN'T because "her great grandfather built the building" after all, that's just what she was told...)

I like this theory! I also had a hunch that the mother was going to be the surprise villain, not Jack, but adding this extra "I killed your father that you love" motive for Kate is pretty good. Could even lead to future seasons like the last episode being the reveal where the mother tells her and then leaves that as the cliffhanger for Season 2 where Kate has to go after the mom. Cool!

@@urbent3147 yeah exactly, the mum has had some pretty suss moments - the mysterious phone call immediately after Clint left, the fact that the info on Jack came from her security company (where she could easily fudge details if the authorities start looking into her so the blame gets shifted elsewhere), the argument with Jack's uncle. And speaking of the Uncle, we saw him ask Jack what he was doing with Kate's mum at the auction - at first it looked like it was concern that Jack was playing her but now I'm wondering if he was asking because the uncle knew that SHE was playing Jack and as a result that's why he was eliminated. Or hell, maybe Jack is undercover working to expose her?

I am so happy about Charlie Cox. I meet him once and he is super nice. Weirdly this was the first time where I actually liked the character of Jack. And I cried a bit because Jeremy Renner is amazing and I am still not over Natashas death. I think losing your best friend is one of the most horrible things that can ever happen to you, especially when they sacrificed themself for you

I found myself smiling despite myself when Jack danced with Eleanor. But this episode was cool! I loved Hawkeye’s character development and seeing more of his PTSD. Laura seems oddly well informed. I wonder if she was a shield agent or another assassin as people are suggesting. But that last scene with the fight and Clint flashing back right before Kate fell in to the Christmas lights was absolutely heartbreaking. But that final cameo guys! I mean come on!

I agree. I think they wanted us to think Jack is the villian but I think it's just the Mom. Before this episode, I wonder if they were working together but now I think it's just her and she's framing Jack. When she and Armond were arguing, he mentioned money and what he uncovered. I think Armond found out about her laundering and that she framed Jack; and that's why he got killed. From episodes 1-3, Jack has always behaved suspicious. Like he was faking being nice. This episode is the first time he seemed genuine. While Kate's Mom is still shifty has hell.

Spoiler/Speculation: I bet the “shot not taken“ moment will be replicated by the end of the season. Whereas Clint thought Natasha ‘wanted out’ and let her go, someone (either Clint or Kate) will have a shot on Maya, but will sense that she too wants out, and let her go
