This episode's reaction really makes me wish there was a Gravity Falls reaction on your channel. It would probably be a similar dynamic of Jay being the Enis/Mable who enjoys the happy fun times and comedy and Adam being the Wednesday/Dipper who tries to solve the mystery. If you both have never watched it, can hiiighly recommend :D

I'm with Adam on this, solving the mystery is part of being invested in the show. A good mystery is so much fun, and one that keeps me guessing until the very end is a treasure to behold.

I think a way to view the “clues” is that we’re viewing them from Wednesday’s perspective. She’s a very perceptive person (almost supernaturally so) but she also gets fixated on finding what she believes are the right answers.

That’s why if Tyler isn’t redeemed, I wouldn’t mind Xavier and Wednesday getting together. I mean they made up at the end of the season. At first I thought Xavier was just an odd guy all around but upon my 3rd watch(yes, I’ve watched it 3 times), I did start to see a bit of chemistry between them and he honestly seems like a pretty stand up guy, especially with the conversation they have after saving her in episode 1. I wouldn’t mind them just being friends either, but I can see them together

“You know lobotomies, their like tattoos, you just can’t get one.” 🤣 There is only one member of the Addams Family that I love more than Wednesday and that’s Uncle Fester. He’s freaking insane, even by their standards. And Fred Armisen was PERFECTLY cast as Uncle Fester. I hope that he actually becomes a full supporting character in Season 2. Plus I never thought that I would fear for the (un)life of a disembodied hand but damnit they made me care for him as much as Wednesday. As for the Hyde, I like the concept of it but I just wish they made it look scarier, it looks more like a cracked out chupacabre.

I do think the Hyde looks goofy with it's big head and eyes (the large Marge (Pee Wee homage) woman looks spooky though). The picture of the Hyde is much scarier.

This is why if between Tyler and Xavier, Tyler would be the better killer. Xavier's most interaction with Wednesday is him following her. While with Tyler, is her looking for him. Wednesday first interaction with Tyler is when he was working, doing nothing suspicious. So if the plan was or was being disrupted by Wednesday, his lack of initiative and lack of creepy stalking, it would make him look innocent to Wednesday's eyes.

All I'll say is that when they lingered on the flowers in the hospital room, they never showed the psychiatrist leaving them there. She just happened to leave at the same time we noticed them. They could've already been in the room before she got there.

While that's a good theory, they 100% have Dr. Kimbott walking into the room holding the flowers and placing them in the vase herself.

I'm very much like Adam on shows like this - I enjoy trying to figure out what's happening! It doesn't matter if I get it right or not, the surprise is fun if I don't, and it's satisfying to be right if I do 😆 So glad you guys are back to finish this show, looking forward to the last ep!

Well at his point, I was in the the Hyde turned on his master camp. But something that happens in like the first two minutes after the opening credits changes the game. And once you realize the endgame, wow, it gets dark. It also happens that the clues of Kimbott started only in episode 6. Also, Wednesday planted the stuff in Xavier's studio. That is why he is and will continue to be so mad.

There's something, funny, sweet, maybe even poetic, about the fact that Jay said Kimberly is like Adam in that they both always trie to figure out the "mystery", and Adam said that Amanda is like Jay in that they both just want to enjoy the show and the surprise without worrying to try and figure it out.

Yeah, I loved the red herrings and double red herrings in this show. The flowers in particular, where I caught them in the house, made the connection the show wants you to make, then later realized where all instances of those flowers must have come from....

I’m on Jay’s side, I’m patient and if the show is well written, the story tells itself and I don’t need to guess. I’ve been talking to my dad about The Last of Us and he doesn’t like it because there’s no one to root for. To me, that’s the point of the show! They give you a bleak situation and some hopeless characters and then turn it around to make you care.

Hmm. I haven't seen ep 8 yet and I'm not convinced by Wednesday's vision that its Tyler. We were told earlier that her visions could sometimes be wrong/misleading. So it could well be a last minute misdirect. I'm now looking suspiciously at ... Sheriff? Actually I have no idea. What a great little show this is.

There was no goal. Tyler just hated therapy. His distaste for it is sprinkled throughout the previous episodes. It was personal, not relevant to Thornhill’s plan

I do not try to figure the mystery out I just try to enjoy the ride. A few of stake/steak references...I thought the date was very romantic and sweet, and I was irritated that they tried to manipulate us to believe that they would actually kill off a near-legacy character like Thing. That is never going to happen and cheapened the scene for me. If you two would take my corn-ball suggestion seriously you might be surprised...I think Snoopy does it all.

For me it depends. If the puzzle/mystery is in game format I tend to side with Adam and want to figure it out as I go, but if it's in show/movie format, I side with Jay and enjoy being taken for a ride.
