Its so much fun listening to you, Peter, explain the pieces, with so much enthusiasm! I particularly love when you describe a piece with markings, engravings, molded items...all the different decor...I fall in love with it and then you tell us just how small it really is....AND THAT ONLY MAKES IT EVEN MORE AMAZING...to see such artistic beauty only to realize that awesome pieces was made so small...thats just takes me over the edge....seeing things so amazing!

It sold last night...went for FIVE times it's high estimate. Sold for 4.7 Million HK$ around $600,000 US way over the $80,000 US they had thought, it was a tough thing to estimate though. Best Peter (we'll do a video on both sales next week)

For high end modern copies, bubbles in the glaze won’t be too helpful, because they would be made in traditional kilns instead of gas or electric powered furnace.

Thats true, as I said it's not the only thing. but can be a part of the decision making. Best Peter

Speaking of the Hongwu bowl, I once heard that the lotus petal pattern on Yuan pieces will always have the petals conjoined, while the Ming examples will have every petal seperated from each other. I haven't found any concrete evidence that this is completely true, but noor have I found any pieces disobeying this "rule"... Good video as always btw!

Hello Olof, I think you got it accidentally backwards, Many believe the Yuan Lotus petals are typically not conjoined, while Ming examples are..Best Peter
