I certainly understand keeping the coach up and the cost. My level three at Prevost Nashville was over 2K and seems like a level two someway comes out over 1k. In addition to all the personal maintenance that like you I personally do. Upgrading front suspension was a real task to do at home, constant repair of air leaks, new tires and batteries almost required a loan. New icemaker was also a project. I should have done that myself due to a dumb repair person. Still do not have the dash air working properly after several tries. There is always something to take care of when you are fussy and want everything to work correctly!

We have just had about 4 months ++ of back and forth with our 2nd Gen slides on our 2004. Literally everything was worked on (or so it felt like) by Prevost. They seem to be fine now. Bert at Prevost Houston seems to one of the best at the slides too. Encourage you to get to know him. Will also respond after hours. We feel your pain. However, just know this - these are coaches that are like homes and need periodic maintenance. We will slowly have ours rebuilt and will be good for another 20 years. Enjoying your videos. Seeing all of these coaches in the repair facility tells me they are not much different than the less expensive rigs many of us have. I have always wanted a Prevost because of their reputation for reliability and durability. Seeing so many in for repair gives me pause to wonder if they are worth spending the extra money on? We've had 6 RV'S since 1986, including 2 pusher diesels, so we are very familiar with the nature of these beasts. You guys have the right attitude for sure, but $30K is not small change!

Hi thanks for posting this video. Why does your title talk about a $30,000 repair but your video doesn’t describe why these simple repairs we’re so mind blowing expensive! Why did these little things cost so much? And also what did each part of the repair cost? What is their hourly rate? How many hours did this all add up to for gods sake! None of my coaches cost me that much to purchase and build. Please tell us, are these guys charging $500 per labor hour?
@LiveTomorrowNow7 ай бұрын
Good hearing from you. We have the breakdown on an earlier reply. The Prevost Slide tubes were around $3K, then hand remove, clean, install gets to 10K. Then we had to have Marathon remove the inside and re-install the inside. We also had some delayed maintenance fixed, and ride height fixed while at Prevost. The Prevost hourly rate was $165. Marathon hourly rate was a bit higher. It all adds up. These guys had more than 20 years experience, & very few techs have this kind of experience on Prevost slides of our year. It wasn’t simple at all. Cost of labor adds up. That’s cool you can do all your repairs. That will save you a bundle!!💕Zack & Linda

Truly absurd at the poor engineering and horrific design of these vehicles. If this was a car company, they’d be out of business. Why aren’t these companies deeply ashamed and embarrassed to be producing such poor machines?
@ReflectedMiles7 ай бұрын
04:04 I was wondering about this, and I think that a lot of prospective Prevost owners and onlookers get confused about what Prevost does / doesn't do and is / isn't responsible for. They are an engineered, certified commercial-transport bus company, which already puts them well outside of the universe of RV manufacturers who generally loathe having to actually engineer anything, and they have understandably never seemed to like moving away from that core of their business identity to do other RV things that mess with the structure like slide installation. I don't know where things stand now, but in general they have offered a very limited slide option or two from the factory and the customizers that actually make the coach into an RV, like Marathon, have often done their own slide systems instead. (Marathon was typically using Valid slides at one point--I don't know if they still are.) So depending on the particular Prevost coach, the slides may not even be Prevost's responsibility.
@LiveTomorrowNow7 ай бұрын
It is confusing on slides and year model. We were very impressed with Prevost Winter Garden having very experienced techs, over 20 to 30 years experience just on slide repair. That’s why we decided to have it fixed there because they know how to repair the older coaches and Marathon is a few hours away so they work with Marathon smoothly. 💕

Come on guys. I know you want to put a positive image on everything but this is real life. Most of us that are watching want to know the facts and the cost by breakdown. My coach is a Featherlite about the same vintage as yours. I also have some of the same problems as you and like you I also take care of my coach. My slide problem is not quite as serious as yours but I am really curious as to what you really went through. You present it so positive that I know you left out the real facts that many of us would like to know. Since this problem started I try to keep up but it is difficult. You put on a lot! Maybe you could number each video or something so we know. I hope this isn’t the last video about the slide problem. I am a lot more interested in that than Disney World. Was this the last about the slide or not. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate your videos. Just really interested in your mechanical information. Maybe I am weird but owning one of these things gets your attention if you take care of it as you do. Been watching since before you bought your bus so I have been through all your problems with you. But I am sure not in the correct order. Know what I mean? Anyway thanks for sharing. A loyal viewer! Gerald

I am sorry you feel that way. We had repairs in the 30k range, a very true statement. The coach had blown seals front & back plus two top tracks had to be replaced. Worse case scenario. Other work was also done. Compressor replaced, engine valve adjustment, various air leaks, and a few electrical issues which was primarily a programming fix. I hope you choose to watch in the future. If not, i sincerely hope you find channels you can enjoy. We wish you all the best. Zack & Linda

Why would you say this to these nice people? If you read he takes time to answer and explain so many comments including being nice to you. I think you owe them an apology!!! Just my opinion to rude remarks. No one can please everyone .

@@geraldmiller6679 in his title he insinuates that the repair costs were $30,000 never once did he say what things had cost. All they were doing was going back and forth and back and forth to repair shops. No mention of cost so in truth they were clickbaiting because they never explained what and why things cost what they did. Now if they answered questions from comments then that's different. But all in all it's still clickbait. I wasn't being rude at all. I was being honest

@@geraldmiller6679 also, how do we know that insurance didn't cover any of it? They never mentioned it. You would think that if they just bought the RV there would be some sort of insurance. Not one mention of that. So in my opinion they clickbaited

So, you buy a premium bus and a premium conversion and get run back and forth like ping pong ball. It is a shame the service is so poor. Neither company cares about service or customers. If either cared, it would step up and solve the issues without the ping pong game.

Johnny they offered to come over but we would pay for hourly rate for drive & back. So we drove it back and forth to avoid the extra expense. 💕Zack & Linda
