When thinking of this movie as it differs from the other movies remember that there are two versions of the Predators trapped in some sort of civil war. This movie Prey is more or less a historic take on the other Predators whom also seek out the strongest prey to hunt in the galaxy that we were introduced to two movies prior to this one. Remember Noland's words saying they are different as a wolf is to a dog. So, they too have a history roaming the galaxy in search of worthy prey. Eventually everything must take a turn back to the Engineers as all that planetary damage seems to have been a war between the Predators and the Engineers. And from the looks of how the Predators knowledge of the Alien's when the Engineers sent that bioweapon to their planet it didn't work as they were much better hunters than the Engineers expected them to be. If they put their minds to the task at writing and creating with much creativity as possible this could be one of the greatest movie makes of all time as it will incorporate many other movies into it's fold.

While the feral predator lifting bear is out of this world strength, other movies have shown the same if not more. In AVP there two that stick out. The bulky predator that dies early in the movie runs and takes an alien and slams it into stone smashing it. The second one was the main predator at the end of the movie. It's able to leap extremely high in the air while traveling quite far horizontally and stab the queen in the head. Leaping like that at the size (250-270lbs) is crazy. Think of football player that jumped out of swimming pool and multiply that power by 10.

The end is super stupid. From the predator accidently cutting of its own arm (wtf), too the predators mask targeting itself for a headshot. Let's say the mask was still laying on the ground, the predator would know the projectile wouldn't hit the girl, but fly where the mask was pointing and not where the arm was pointing. There is a lot of awesome shot in the movie, but the end is just stupid and ruins the review value. Predator 2 is far above this one. Btw, love ur vids.

This movie is overrated, I knew going in the males would likely be portrayed as arrogant and overconfident, the Europeans as cruel beyond any kind of redemption, and the female lead being better at everything than anyone. And guess what? That's exactly what this movie delivers. Firstly, within her own tribe, she is able to survive while their bravest male warriors are all over confident, and all get cut down by the Predator. She's also over confident, but she has plot armor, and they don't. She's selfish, even though she's living in a tribal society, that deeply depends on communal co-operation, when her wise old mother informs her, that she can be a great healer, and that she had just saved a life, Naru couldn't care less, she's going to be hunter, even if that means others in her tribe die off, because she has a point, she can do everything a boy can do, and better. The Europeans are all old, saggy, infirm, dirty, unattractive, cruel, sadistic, and beyond any kind of redemption. Not a single one is portrayed as young, fit, and athletic. I didn't know that exploring dangerous and hostile uncharted territory in search of adventure and wealth attracted only saggy cowardly unfit males over 50 years of age and already over their average life expectancy, who couldn't possibly survive in such harsh conditions. Of course this single ~5 foot, ~100 lb female is able to cut down a dozen or so Europeans with her stone age tools, out smart her village elders, including her mother, and out think an alien being that has mastered interstellar, if not intergalactic travel with advanced weapons. It is somehow too intimated to confront her in hand to hand combat, even though it voluntarily has done just that against dozens of armed males simultaneously, and a brown bear, and instead uses it's homing weapon without the homing mask to control it, and not knowing where it is, meaning it could be pointed anywhere, even at him, which it is. One has to wonder if this is what Comanche women were like, how did they possibly lose all these wars to the fat, incompetent, alcoholic, saggy, cowardly, and unfit Europeans? Especially after they obtained horses and gun powder weapons themselves.

I think the Feral Pred is just using more appropriate gear for the hunt. There is a pretty solid tradition in the Pred books that they don’t consider overkill to be honorable. Plasma Casters and what not are generally reserved for tech advanced species or groups of Aliens. And as far as I’ve seen in books and movies the net gun was never acidic, it was razor sharp and tightened on the prey. Even when they hunt Aliens it’s close quarters weapons that are used for honors sake, particularly when young hunters are being blooded. So it appears to me the “Feral” Pred is just a young hunter out on a lark hunting hunter gatherer levers sentient prey. So he uses much lower tech weapons and fewer gadgets in the task. There’s no honor using plasma against bows and arrows, now modern firearms, that’s a different story.

I'm not sure you can read too much into the difference between the predator blood in this film and that used in previous films. I seem to recall seeing a featurette where they discussed changing how they presented Predator blood because they didn't want to keep using the old method, due to it's toxicity.

My friends really liked Prey. They were used to AVP and AVR being the fav and didn’t really care for The Predator. The other Predator movies are a little dated. This movie had a really good story line. And was great for a younger audience. For me some of the fight scenes with Naru were kind of unbelievable but that’s Hollywood I guess. I’m looking forward to more Predator movies in the future!

I like this movie but i like to think this isnt the first time they've visited earth. I'd like to see the movies go back further in time. Some of the weapons remind me of ancient roman times or something. Theres the wrist blades which is the sword, the spear, the shield(only in Prey) and the net they throw. This movie is stupid, For many reasons. 1, The Feral Predator is just a bigger badder version of something we've already seen in Predators, Was not impressed then, Still not now, Same with Predator with the Predator Hunting for special needs people lol That's still so stupid to say that out loud. 2, The Predator could clear any native american and or any western people in this time period, PERIOD. It would not be a fight, It'd be a slaughter, Your talking about something the K.O'ed a bear.. Bears have been know to crush a human skull with one powerful hit.. A small man or young woman with have more chance of fighting off that bear (Would never happen.. Don't believe me ? Tons of video's out there showing just how weak we are compared to a bear and just how little damage a fully grown buff man could do that a small female or male would be dinner without question. Bear's Vs Lions is another good video to watch to show how huleriously under powered we are compared to either of these predators and the Bear wins) 3, Low tech of the Predator was intentionally done because there'd be no movie worth watching if it had the tech other predators have, But given the Jungle Predator beat the ever loving hell out of Dutch, Killed Billy in moments and took out a one armed Dillon fireing a small machine gun with its claws are just a few of the choie examples i want to to think about when a native american man or woman as well as the french trapers would face in the same situation.. Its a no contest fight, Predators are not just stronger and tougher than we are, They are smart, Fast, Agile with tech that we'd drool over to have and your telling me a girl who practises tossing a axe (Tommahawk) around can comperhend the Predators tech ? Its beheaviour ? How it see's ? I'm guessing the predator is deaf too right ? Any indecation i've seen showed enhanced hearing more so in the first as you can hear the soldiers foot steps while the Predator watches them.. I guess he left his hearing aid at home ? They nerphed and overpowered this Predator in the same movie and i see people clapping like happy seal's haha. Is the concept of a Native American tribe going up against a Predator cool sounding ? Yea a littloe, Do a buy for a second the Predator would not kill every single one of them in an afternoon.. God no, That'd be the hight of stupidity, That be like saying a Human with a minigun covered in state of the art body armour would be taken out by a group of people coming at him with small knives they'd be mowed down with ease. This has nothing to do with this being a woman, A man would fair little better for all those who want to dismiss the obvious sillyness of this movie, But even then a female challenging the social norms is a modern day "issue" put in an era where the question why can't i would never be asked, The movies plot, Premis and execution are all bad, Very, Very bad. Even the look of the Predator though interesting initially is kinda stupid, We can build space ships, High tech weapons... But we'll wear a bone to cover our faces that can be easily removed ? Come on this movie was hyped and compared to the 1st Predator and it falls way short of the 1st in almost every aspect.. This is the case of people wanting so bad for a good Predator movie that when they got something they could say was at least better than the 3rd and 4th they lambasted it with praise not realising hey.. Turn your brain on and ask questions, Because if anyone at any point turned there broken minds on would easily see the gaping holes in logic that the writers did not want people to see or to ask questions about Native American history, Like why was it that men hunted and women did not ? 1, Because no matter what ideot keeps pushing men and women are really the same they are dead wrong, Men are physically more capable than women, Sorry if that offends that's just straight facts. Men can move faster, Go longer, Are traditionally taller by a few feet, We also able to carry large prey we kill while women would struggle, Men's lives are seen as less valuble than womens because they bare and carry children, Fewer women means less children and that's a good way to head towards the end of there people. Also as any archer will tell you pulling back aiming and hitting a target takes a good deal of strength that women can do but not to the same ratio as men, There are 100's of these small factors that makes this movie so unwatchable its actually worse in a lot of ways than 3 and 4.. I like the woman from the 2nd predator, I thought she was bad ass and done dirty by the movie, So i don't hate women, I don't hate strong women Vasques from Aliens and Riply are my two favorite characters and are miles better than any strong female i see in movies today. They were believable and well acted, I could spend all day pointing out things that are very poor about this movie that people want to hype into something it just isn't as good as the 1st Predator, Or the 2nd that i do have issues with more how they done the female cop dirty, I wanted to see her go out like a bad ass or like Danny Glovers character partake in the Predators defeat, Sadly its not what we got, But it did at least reveal Predator's had a moral code that kind of off sets the scene, But is still a let down. I don't hate on a movie just to hate but when a movie is hyped like this one and its worse in some respects as others i'm wondering what people are taking to think that.. I just don't get how ANYONE buys this movie. Little, indian girls who can't even hunt a deer, in what....a day or so or a few, takes down an intergalactic hunter that's got advanced training and advanced weaponry...Who would buy this nonsense? At least all the other people who fought the predators were military special forces of some type, the indian girl is a wanna-be hunter. I just have a few things that I didn't care for in the movie. One mainly being naru/neru and her ability to absolutely grasp super high tech. She had to be told how to use a flintlock. So if that's the case yeah maybe she can put two together and see the mask working but if you think about it, she's never been exposed to any kind of tech. Ever. So for her to correlate the fact that that weird thing that has a red light that apparently puts three red lights on other things and then is fires arrows at it somehow. But he didn't draw? How does that thing on his shoulder move on its own?... I don't know man I just put myself in her shoes and think it's 1719 and I've never even seen electricity other than a lightning storm. What the f*&# is a laser? Lmao I can't be the only one that thinks this

People back then wrote about crazy stuff they saw and couldn't put it into words how do you think she's gonna see a red light and know it's a weapon. She can be smart which she is but the notion "she's seen it multiple times" doesn't stick. She's almost always on the run or fighting it when she sees the predator use it. That's high level of understanding of what's going on. And if you don't believe me, take an AR to a tribe in the Amazon, dump a mag in front of them, reload, and ask them to recreate what you just did. It won't happen.

I don't think Alien and Predator belong in the same universe. Alien lore is much deeper, as evidenced by this video. Basically, all you've done here is recount the plot, along with a few interpretative comments, as compared to your Alien/Prometheous videos where you have a wealth of material to deep dive into. The Yaucha don't really make sense to me, tbh. They're supposed to be a warrior culture, like the Spartans or the Commanche, but when did a pure warrior culture ever foment an advanced, technological civilization? I believe that humans have developed an advanced civilization precisely because we bagan to make warfare a relatively minor part of our overall activity (and yes, I know that war is a driver for technological advance, but it is still a long way from being the only thing we do); we had time and space to develop our thoughts in a wider sense. Can you imagine a Yaucha playing badminton or writing a play? Examining another Yaucha's prostate? Having a laugh down the pub with his mates and being convinced to take up stand up comedy? Debating ethics and whether or not other , seemingly lower forms of life have as much right to live as you? I can't. I can't imagine how a culture like that would ever move much beyond the stone age.

I thought this movie was one of the best in the franchise. at first, i was concerned it was going to be a Mary-Sue moment that could ruin everything but it turn out to be the opposite. 2 thumbs up from me.

Another problem for me is this predator knows space travel has all this technology, but somehow this teenage Indian is smarter at every turn. Oh and a flower makes you invisible. Totally this is ridiculous. How exactly does it mask your heat signature?
