Let me explain the ending This takes place during Sonic CD so Sonic has the Time Stones, and in this version of the events the Chaos Emeralds so when he was hit by Furnace head on he was able to go Super at the last moment and survive the attack with no damage taken, the overflow of energy and speed triggers the Time Stones to allow Sonic to see a glimpse into what would have happened if he hadn't had the emeralds, this glimpse must have worked both ways since Sonic and Starved sing a little before Starved laughs knowing that at least in this timeline he managed to defeat that rrrrrrotten hedgehog

The explanation of the ending is good, but the chaos emeralds weren't present in Sonic CD in-game, however; the concept of Sonic's speed triggering a brief glimpse into the future could still apply to the time stones. But this is just my own opinion on this, so take it with a grain of salt.

@@valvarado3985 super sonic was a found/scrapped aspect of sonic CDs 2011 remake, but that's the problem- it's scrapped, so I'm not entirely sure if the time stones have enough power to turn sonic super, but who knows- sonic has been seen to go into different super forms with different energy sources like the rings in that wii game, hyper sonic, etc.

To put it simple sonic died in the future, then sonic (the past self) used the time stones to travel in the future and now truly end starved for good, is why the "confrontation" happens in the end and why you see sonic corpse but with him still singing, so yes this is a good ending, this time sonic ain't messing around and he knows what's going to happen to him if he does, anyway yeah time paradox.

I heard from a comment from another video that Starved had the chaos emeralds and Starved told him to reset the timeline so he could Sonic again because Starved thought of Sonic as very tasty. After resetting many times, Sonic’s body without Sonic got used to Furnace killing him and so let Sonic be able to react to avoiding Funace. That’s why Starved said “WHAT” as like he was confused Sonic didn’t die. I’m guessing Sonic gets the chaos emeralds resonation to turn into Super Sonic but idk. This might explain some stuff idk if this is canon. I just heard it and so I told it so it could maybe help with the confusion of how Sonic survived here. I think this is also why Starved said “you don’t even know your fate” to Sonic

I like to believe that Starved collected all the time stones (as seen by Stardust Speedway bad future in the background). He would then use them to create a loop where he could catch Sonic over and over. However, Sonic would slowly start to adapt to the loop until he avoids Furnace's attack. Sonic then uses the chaos emeralds to defeat Eggman and Furnace. I also like the idea that Tails collected the time stones so he could save Sonic, but was *too slow*. And Sonic would adapt to avoid Furnace. Just my own little headcanon.

But the general concept is: his subconscious retreated into a hallucination of himself coming out victorious, while at the same time he was being slammed into the ground, in reality. But in his dream he was making a Super getaway. I really do recommend watching the Baki clip and draw parallels from that.
