Small addition: Deactivating the speed limit warner is also even easier achievable with pressing and holding the volume/mute button at the steering wheel

Rear turn signals are way too low in the bumper area and halogen lamps? Really? Why not incorporate dynamic led signals in the tail light bridge?

Not only that, but they are nearly impossible to be replaced with LED bulbs without taking the whole rear bumper out...

Right? It is a really big missed opportunity. It is one of the most baffling design decisions made on a car where otherwise so many good choices are present. The sister Sportage gets LED rear turn signals that are higher mounted.

​@@stephenwakeman3074strangely, Kia had them down and Hyundai up in the previous generations, while now they reversed their positions. Also the head lamps are too low, make it very easy to break in any light collision.

Thanks, Thomas. I will look for a coin in the backseat armrest, too! You demonstrated your great sense of humor there! I just sat in the top Limited trim in US yesterday in the showroom and will test drive soon. It’s more in my budget than a German car. Seems like a great value as you say. I’m glad you mentioned the negatives as well, so I can check those out.

Hyundai has really up the game recently you won’t find the features they give you in any other car In this price range and they always refresh their cars every 2 years and designs are lot better recently

But then again they perform and drive worse than European competitors did 10 years ago, Hyundai's still feel like cheap cars when you drive them, nowhere near as refined as Skoda's or VW's for example for the same price or slightly higher. Also they're very unreliable and their warranty politics are horrible. They get you with the 7 year warranty same as Kia, but then almost anything that goes wrong they find a way to blame you and will say that warranty doesn't cover the fault since it's your fault you misused the car. As for the design, yea, it's just a bunch of kitschy undefined elements thrown into a big pile, their cars are totally undefined and tasteless, they just make changes every 2 years to keep them different and fresh, but none of them age well and look ridiculous out of the box to be honest. They're not very well thought out or developed cars, and the price reflects that.

@@derbigpr500 Well, this might be individual preference, but after testing the Skoda, the VW and the Tucson, I like the driving feeling in the Tucson much more than the rest... Maybe you can explain what "drive worse" should mean in your context.

Correct, I drove KIA sportage 2023 and its an absolute piece of garbage. The 7 year warranty means nothing. These cars are not refined. ​@@derbigpr500

Another good review, Thomas… Re: the issue you had with the seat and cabin space - this might be related to the average height of an adult male, in South Korea, being 1.75m. I've only driven Hyundai & KIA cars when I've rented them, but I've always found cars from these brands to be comfortable & functional. However, they offer about as much excitement as a domestic appliance (IMHO)!!😅

Wish there was a measurement of how high the driver's seat can be adjusted. Not all people are tall and there are also many who like to sit high in the seat

Great review - just to let you know, you don’t need to assign a button to turn off the speed warning alert sounds. If you hold down the volume button for a few seconds this also turns off the sounds.

I have the pre-facelift version and had the model before. Utterly reliable and comfortable motoring. My only issue has been twisted seatbelt and once had to clear snow from the low down headlights. Otherwise perfect.

What a job you are doing here. Again high quality content and great attention to details. I was between this model and Kodiaq and ended up ordering Kodiaq manly because of ride quality. Like you mention here Tucson can feel unsettled and sometimes have lot of movement, other than that lovely car.

Also at 2:00 they integrate it inside rear glass because of rear wiper, it can be bigger now (compared to previous version logo was on glass so wiper had to be shorter) and bigger is better right?

There are so many Tucsons on the streets here that i'm absolutely tired of the look, but I was hoping they would do something about the rear turn signals. They are small and on the bottom, I rarely notice them.

In my experience they are very nice. The system is actually the same as it was on the Genesis models. For what I have seen I can tell it's not worse than the Skoda Matrix.

It’s interesting to see Thomas had a problem with his knee hitting the centre control console. I am 6”2’ - 188cm and I find the car fine. However I am based in the U.K. so as our steering wheel is on the right, my right leg is on the outside edge of the car away from the centre console. Maybe then, this is an issue only with left hand drive cars…quite an interior design flaw if that is the case.

Congrats on this nice (as always) review! I was actually wondering what were the major changes on the Facelift version - and now I know. I tested the pre-facelift model and I was put off by the abundance of glossy-black that was used extensively in the interior; it's now a bit less fingerprint (and dust) magnet used on the center console. As you mentioned, I fail to see the reason to position the turn indicators so low on the rear bumper. Besides the fact that they're more exposed to "injuries", that's not very helpful in heavy traffic conditions; higher up on the body would make them more visible to more cars (not just the 1st behind). Same comment on the headlights: I never understood why would Hyundai position those so low, while having such a high front available. Higher headlights would definitely improve the illumination on dark roads.

In reality the indicators integrated in the side-view mirrors are also visible from behind and drivers behind and around do see them.

I owned Tucson of previous generation (MY 2021). From what I can see, this new model inherited these things I was complaining about: 1. Low-sitting headlights without washers. A really big problem in Finnish winter; 2. Rear view camera without a washer. Again, in the winter gets dirty really fast. 3. Low-sitting turn lights in the back. I can live with a lots of piano black high gloss plastic, though. But 3rd generation of Tiguan PHEV has higher sitting headlamps, rear view camera with a washer, high sitting rear turn signals and twice bigger traction battery. So Tiguan wins over Tucson. At least, for me.

I like Hyundai-Kia design and the way they embrace modernity. OTOH they tend to bring out face lifted versions rather too soon in my opinion which means you get left with something thats a bit dated after only a few years. Also there seem to be some class actions suits in USA with engines self destructing etc. The company has come a long way in a very short time. If they sort out long term durability maybe they can surpass Toyota at some point?

Yes, the frequent updates can leave you outdated quickly (That's what happened to me, as I have bought a 2022 model in Oct 2022), but on the other hand when you buy the car you have more recent tech. I can mention an example for the opposite - You can now buy a 2025 Ford Kuga, which is actually based on a 2018 chassis with little updates on the infotament system and slightly touched design... you think you have 2025 car, while you actually have a 7-year-old car...

can somebody confirm the city consumption for the full hybrid model 2024? what is the car consuming only in city driving? ( 80-90% city driving)

It should be around 6.2 - 6.5 l/100km with economic driving. That's overall average, you might get better economy in summer and worse in the winter.

It's Shadow Grey and it's N-line exclusive color. Was available pre-facelift for N-line as well.

@@grasho II've searched and found out that it's an exclusive N-line color. I signed an N-line this time, but there were no colors this in the options. Maybe I can't choose in my country. What I'm curious about is. Is it the new color on the 2025 facelift or the color that was on the 2024 facelift?.

8:09 the 4 dots are the letter H in the Morse Code, but obviously that is a cost-cutting measure.

No good for me then, 6' 2" like you and those seats would annoy me, along with the rear indicators set in the lower bumper not very visible in queuing traffic.

I am 1.85m tall with long-ish legs and I have none of his issues with the seat and with the gear column/AC console. I guess anything above 1.85m has the potential to be a problem.

Not a fan of the styling indents close to the front and rear wheel arches. Every time I would approach the car I would think something had hit it and would have to have a close examination. Must be costly to press- why not save money and spend it on an upgrade to those poor rear indicators.

8:11 the 4 dots on the steering wheel is representative of of moss code for the letter H.... for Hyundai. They introduced it on the Ioniq 5, with all of its pixelated design features

Well at least Hyundai figured out the logo goes on the grill, not the body unlike their sister carmaker Kia. The turn indicators are far too low. And finally, all the odd ceases and folds in the body still turn me off.

Reliability and durability (in terms of lots of quality control issues related to non powertrain related components) continue to plague Hyundais as well. Their looks have improved but they are still pretty cheap cars.

New Stellantis group seats should be miles better as well as Austral ones. Haven't tried new tucson tho, but based on what I see I'm almost positive that's the case.

Tuscon 2th gen was best buy back then ,this one is not ,Chines are much better buy in my country. And all manufacturers consider that Europeans have short legs so they sold you shorter car for more money then else where
