There it is, we have our final for the 2022 World Matchplay. Gerwyn Price and Michael Van Gerwen face off for the first time in a final on Sky. The first semi was such great quality, Danny Noppert was actually playing very well but Gezzy was playing unbelievable darts and that 9 darter made not just my day but my whole week. Its crazy ive only started following darts this year and ive seen three 9 darters live on TV and all of them were from Gerwyn Price (i started watching darts from 2nd Jan, i missed his 9 darter v Smith on New Years by one day :( , but to hit 4 of them in a year and were only in July thats just unbelievable). When the Iceman is feeling it, theres hardly a better sight in darts. The second semi final was so strange, i mean after Price' performance, it was gonna be difficult to live upto that standard but it was so edgy between Dimi and MVG. The level wasnt great but coz they were close in the score, it still kept me on the edge of my seat coz u just couldnt tell who was gonna win. John Part called it on the commentary and said MVG hasnt been in the lead during the entire match but if he does get into the lead, he wont give it up and he was absolutely right. MVG won 7 of the last 8 legs from 10-13 down to 17-14 so that will give him confidence for tomorrow but if he plays like that in the final, hes gonna lose to Price. MVG knows he needs to up his game and if he does tomorrow, we could be in for an outstanding final. It should be a great one anyway and may the best man win. Cant wait for the finale of this brilliant tournament.

Whether you like Price or not you have to appreciate how good he is. Felt like that 9 darter was never in doubt. Sad for Dimi as I was rooting for him to overcome MvG, but his scoring game simply didn't turn up tonight. I'm sure he's gonna win another big one soon though. Bring on MvG vs Price tomorrow. I saw both games last night. Price was just that one or two levels better than noppet. Another 9 dart finish for him topped it all off for price and that performance alone demonstrated why he's no1 On the Mvg vs Vdb game it was extremely tight. Respect to dimi for holding onto the lead for that long as van Gerwen was hunting down after the poor start. After the 3rd mini session I knew that eventually van den Bergh would lose the lead cuz as the game went on it seemed mvg was growing and growing and getting better and better Tonight is going to be a cracking final. Price, the world no1 vs mvg the former world no1 and his first matchplay final in 6 years

Mindgames is a part of it and fair play, and if you can't finish your opponent and the match off, you would debate if you deserve to win the match, MvG took advantage of Dimi's mistakes and won fair and square. You don't need to cry and make excuses over your favorite play losing.
