Although I agree with you to a degree. You cannot compare HI to the mainland. The reason HI is expensive is we have limited land and the giant companies that own the land don't want to sell it for a lower price. We want more land to build more homes, kick the military out they own prime real estate on Oahu and I don't think they pay enough for it.

yeah i agree kick the military out. The US military is illegally occupying over 21% of all of the land in the State of Hawai'i. No treaty. No annexation. Free Hawai'i Now.

The blame was always the outsiders inserted into Hawai'i that sold off the lands. Take a look at the tech billionaires and celebrities that have no ties to the land who priced local Hawaiian people out. Including Asian corporations that bought up the hotels, golf courses and resorts from as far away as Dubai.
