If this is their way to set up their life is strange universe saga, that's not a great sign

I specifically voted to accept Safi cause she was so evil 🤣She’s clearly mad with power so I was hoping you’d get more interesting ending but naw even that was meh

Hello :) As someone who really liked the fifth episode, I do understand some of the criticisms you mentioned! Particularly the ending with Diamond and the “Max Caulfield will return” cliffhanger, the weak final choice, the open plot threads/questions/confusions and - obviously - how Pricefield was handled. I see this game as Bay only for that reason. Hell, even Telltale did it better because the characters of Season 2 at least appeared on-screen in Season 3! These are all very big criticisms and I’m not sure yet how much they should influence my (overall surprisingly positive) opinion of the game. Because otherwise? I really enjoyed it. In the last episode in particular, I especially liked the whole nightmare sequence (I actually thought it was much better than Life is Strange’s, since that felt pointless at times), the “swapping scenes” conversation with Safi (I like her character, to be fair) and the final talk in the Black Lantern (which I didn’t even think you would criticize XD). When it comes to accepting or rejecting Safi, I wasn’t sure what to do, so I let a coin decide. Because on the one hand, I didn’t agree with what she suggested, but on the other hand, I thought it would be better to help her instead of antagonizing her. While I really didn’t want to search for other people with powers, I also didn’t want Max to break the promise she gave to Safi earlier. Basically, I was surprisingly conflicted despite how lame I thought the choice was, so I randomized it XD It landed on rejecting her btw, but in the end, I think it’s better to accept her - this way, Safi at least won’t do unnecessary harm while walking around as Max. In your review, you also mentioned some critiques I personally didn’t mind because they were also in other LIS games (particularly in True Colors). Examples: - One single final choice. Every single Life is Strange game only lists one choice in its last episode :) - The “reflecting your thoughts” choices. These were introduced in True Colors, I think. To be fair, I don’t like them either, but I also don’t hate them. (shrug) - No real choice/consequence system. Also something that was in True Colors sadly, though I think True Colors handled them sliiightly better. - The repeating motel room sequence. Am I really the only one who really loves this type of nightmare a lot? XD - Correct me if I’m wrong, but 100%ig the trophies should still be possible even without the DLC, right? Its trophies are listed separately, after all. But yeah, the cat content absolutely sucked. With that all being said … even though I actually liked Double Exposure, I don’t think I’ll ever play another Life is Strange game by Deck Nine ever again. They (and Square Enix) straight-up lied to their fans, scammed them with a way too expensive and pointless Ultimate Edition and took the story somewhere I really didn’t want it to go. I still liked the game for what it was, but I also reached the point where I think they are milking the cow. Well, at least I’m even more excited for Lost Records ;) Btw, I wouldn’t mind if you revisited Life is Strange 2 with new lens! But by actually playing it of course, not by simply discussing your memories. Though I also desperately want you to play True Colors because that is the one Life is Strange game where my opinion on it slowly shifted towards the positive. I felt very underwhelmed with it after I played it for the first time (and I still have some important problems with it), but eventually, I grew to like it more and more. I’m just REALLY curious what your opinion on it will be :) See you :D

Very interesting! So I know you liked it but judging by your comments, would you say that Double Exposure is the weakest LiS game then? Because like we said, I'm now very keen to see LiS 2 and True Colours to compare - which we totally will do at some point (after BTS of course). As far as achievements go, it's impossible to get the last two achievements if you don't have Ultimate Edition, which totally sucks. D9 or Square Enix just didn't read the room and don't understand the fans I think. ~ Jack

@ButterflyEffectPodcast Yeah, it's still the weakest game for me :-/ We'll see if it changes with time, though!
