When I adopted my guinea pigs they were shy and anxious. No one wanted them. But after bringing them home we cuddled and were inseparable. They sadly passed after a long time. I miss them so so much

Elijah Bergeron we all wish that I have a kitty that I found and if it weren’t for my mom he would’ve ended up in the pound the problem is that he’s sick he has a condition and is contagious to other cats but when treated like giving med, cleaning, and making sure he’s ok then he’s pretty good but if he had been put down he’s still sick and always will be but omg he does not act like he’s sick he is completely insane he loves to wake u up in the middle of the night his 2 favorite things 1. Walk up to your face and sneeze and sniffle on it 2. Attack ur feet harshly or just tapping them he’s a odd cat well not AS odd as his brother but that’s another story

@@elijahbergeron7118 I feel like that all the time! I have 9 of my own dogs. Unfortunately, I have worked and or volunteered at several shelters, and what you said you'd say, never happens. People are shit. The reality is, most only want a baby/infant animal. They want an instant success, a purebred, trained, well-behaved, and healthy pet. Most don't realize how traumatized most of these shelter pets are, which is further exacerbated by the shelter itself. Breeders bring in non-show quality pups, pups with health problems etc, bc they can't guarantee a pet like that. It becomes to financially risky. Other common excuses include: "I can't keep him bc I have to move." "I found her as a stray, and there's no way I can keep her, I have a dog." "I can't keep her bc she's too big. She doesn't fit in our home, and eats too much." " He's old now, so I want a puppy. I don't want to deal with an old pet, isn't that what a shelter is for?" "She has cancer, so we don't want to pay for treatments. They have a vet at the shelter." People actually expect us to euthanize their old and injured, bc they're too lazy to care.

sadly the pricks will say no 😔 a responsible dog owner can easily make it work with 4 to 8 dogs... yet the city & pound say nope keep × number of dogs and send the rest to the pound 😑

I just adopted a 14 year old Dachshund. She is so happy! She is our hero! Saved my life, therapy hugs, kisses and cuddles! (For me being the caregiver) Saved my elderly parents emotional lives by bringing them a lot of joy during this stage of life! (83 and 89) We are so incredibly happy and thankful to have her. I can tell, she is just as happy to have us! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖💕

Great. Now I'm crying again. My dog was five months old when I got her from the shelter and was overlooked by everyone for the first FOUR MONTHS of her life. She was skinny, filthy, hadn't had all her teeth yet she was and is the most beautiful thing I've ever layed eyes on. She was scared and lied against the cage wall when I met her, but when I put my finger between the bars and stretched it out for her and her friend, her friend came to me straight away and was the sweetest. There was no reason I wouldn't choose her over the shy dog that didn't seem to want anything to do with me. But Lilly didn't took her eyes off me, and something told me to wait. So after a few minutes, she approached me slowly and put her entire paw on my finger. I knew she was the one at that moment. The ride home with me was a fight because she never came out of the cage before so she was scared, but when we got home and I introduced her to my mother she just laid on her stomach and about ten minutes after she walked STRAIGHT INTO MY BEDROOM and brought us a stuffed animal in her mouth. She still has it in her bed six years later.

The color in their fur is soooo bright and lively! When I adopted my dog, she was all alone in a corner of the shelter and was use to being ignored. She was there for a few weeks. I took her for one walk and said I wanted her. She was home with me in a few hours.

I've been told to watch out that my cat eats enough when getting him out of the shelter. Since he's at my place he eats whenever there is food and gained 2kg :) Maybe he just needed a loving home. He gives me so much love back

The last animal we adopted, money wise, was our oldest cat in the house. He is a 13 year old deaf yellow cat named Socks. We got him February 2017 when he was 10 since the last owners said they were "allergic". He's a good and cute little boney old man. Funny thing was that we didn't know that he was deaf until later on.
