I trained my brain to love doing the dishes bc that is my "day dreaming time", my brain turns off and my "autopilot" self turns on and, im off scouting future house locations, looking at beautiful views and thinking about how its going to look, and before you know it, I check back in and my WHOLE kitchen is sparkling CLEAN. Did I do it? Nope. I was busy. But our autopilot self is there EXACTLY for, those reasons. ❤

Same here with me. However, during this time I have also realized that a lot of the pressure to do things and to be productive comes from societal rules and norms. I think that some of my "have-to's" are actually things that do not have to be done in a certain time, or a certain way, or maybe even at all. So maybe some of this procrastination stuff is also an opportunity to break away from how we've been programmed and really start making up our own rules for how we want to live. 💜

Teal swan’s videos have been extremely transformative for my life. Ever since watching her videos, I’ve had to learn some very hard lessons. But I gained so much insight on how to take back my life. The most important lessons I learned have been forgiveness, taking responsibility for the course of my life, understanding trauma and how to cope with it healthily, and as of late learning to be more authentic. I did not think I could be at this place after what I’ve been through. I got my license, I moved to California, and after 14 months of not having a job I finally have a job that pays more than what I asked for. And it’s all because of the work I put into myself.

Here is another one: I don't like meetings with more than 10 people. They don't go anywhere, and tend to be stale, boring and time-consuming. However, I like focusing, and I like looking at group dynamics, among other things (I can have more than 3 of such motivations at a given moment). So I now attend meetings with these intentions, and look for example at the way people sit and how people copy how other people sit. Or I concentrate really fully on the person speaking, and then use my peripheral vision to see the nonverbal response from others. And this makes meetings into an exercise of focusing and teaches about group dynamics. And those things I find incredibly interesting, not boring at all.

It is very frustrating to speak to group while they are "sleeping" Maybe a speaker is no good, maybe not loud enough to keep attention, or maybe they don't believe what he is saying. A meeting should bring some benefit/real solutions and not be just empty words. If nothing changes for better, than yes it was waste of time.

One of the very best aspects of your lessons is that you give EXAMPLES. Honestly, it's what sets you apart from other channels that I watch. Sure, sometimes others give examples, but oftentimes they don't quite work, seem contrived, or there simply aren't enough of them to really drive the point home. Without good and multiple examples, people are just ... saying things. Also: 5:27 LOLOLOL!!

I love that this works for you! However, what you are doing is, pairing one activity that you don't enjoy with one activity you do enjoy. Other examples of this would be going to work for the chit-chat with colleagues or driving to work while being on the phone with friends. However I invite you to think of this one step further. What I think Teal was trying to teach, and what I find utterly brilliant, is to find enjoyment in the activity itself by focusing on different intrinsic motivators. For example, if you are listening to podcasts you might be interested in excellence, and doing everything with excellence. If that is so, you might find doing the dishes immediately, to be a way to be excellent even with the small things in live. Or maybe you value harmony and you know that you and your family always fight over doing the dishes, so doing them yourself might give you this harmony. Or maybe you enjoy clarity in your mind, and you know that having clarity in your surroundings will help. The main point is: Find what about the activity itself motivates you. That way you will enjoy the activity.

I have this goal of writing just one sentence daily, and I am experiencing resistance and dread even at this. Then after watching this I realized I had the wrong motivation in doing this. I was imposing a "should" on myself in order to become "successful", when I didn't really care about it. So after watching this vid, I reframed my motivation to wanting to make awesome art, like Narnia or LOTR. I got more motivated and actually did it.

I learned how to grow Cannabis and I haven't looked back, I didn't have to make motivation, that is how I got to my breakdown by motivating myself into being something I am not, you are absolutely right but make damn sure your motivation is something you want and can handle long term or it will be an act. Thank you.. I need to start studying again after failing my year, so i can graduate and finally do things I'm interested in. That's my current motivation, and it helps I think, but studying school stuff is the one thing I absolutely hate and sometimes I lose track of what I want for myself.
