I love how hot DCS gets my gpu. During the winter i just close the doors, run DCS and my pc becomes a little space heater and brings the room temp up 5-10 degrees

Sounds good indeed. You can't go wrong with free mods like Community A-4E-C Skyhawk or OH-6A Community Mod. Plenty of great videos and praise for these much simpler aircraft.

I live in Minnesota as well. It’s been in the mid to high 80s here lately. You must live far up in the northern part of the state if it’s cooling off for you. It’s been hot and humid in central MN yet.

I find that if I need a break from learning an aircraft, it is a welcome distraction to play around with the mission editor for a while and make a new mission.

MiG Killers Campaign is hands down my favorite campaign so far. It requires you to get directly behind your target. Doesn’t allow you to rely on 9X’s or even 9M’s. And early sparrows suck. Sidewinders are more reliable from a tail aspect.

Kola looks good but what do I do there ? Since I have no idea about the place and I’m not a programmer I find it even worse than Falklands map. At least I can work out what missions would be there. At least in bms I feel like I’m achieving a mission. DCS feels like a pretty empty sandbox in comparison. Anything on the mission making sides a good thing in my book. Dynamic campaign in whatever form would really help reactivate my interest . I’d even pay full module price for it.

Most studies and expert opinions suggest that the human eye can perceive differences in frame rates up to around 120 to 144 FPS in certain conditions, particularly in dynamic scenarios like gaming or high-speed video. Beyond this point, the difference becomes less noticeable to most people.

In my experience the jump from 60 to around 100 is quite noticeable, but after that it doesn't really matter

It’s kinda ironic, graphics are getting so good, it’s actually too good. As a SiM racer, and a novice on DCS. My 12+ years of GT (25 years), AC, now ACC😢, Project Cars, RaceRoom and iRacing, we’ve seen devs are now having dumb down or dirtying the graphics because of the soap opera effect that you mentioned..it’s so good, it looks fake….dirt, glare, speed, blur, shake in a race car, you don’t necessarily see all that much detail…imho it’s doesn’t really need look pretty, more resource and processing power should be directed towards physics rather than it looking pretty….the cinematic beauty really comes into play when viewing replays…. I can see though where detail can potentially be a huge advantage…having said that, is it realistic 🤔 where is the line between the visuals and reality? I mean, I think it’s absolutely beautiful, and pleasing to the eye..but my question would be, how realistic is it that IRL that a pilot would have the ability to see such details…and would it be considered cheating? Someone with a computer that can’t run the extreme end of the graphical resolutions as opposed to a player that has the $5-$7k for a computer that does…does this detail give a player an unfair advantage 🤔 BvR fights maybe not so much but I can as you get closer to the merge, being able to see your opponent visually would be an advantage.

Thanks for you efforts mate, but I had to chuckle. Not at you, but ED... LOL - So, ED first does a price hike, then puts in a "sale"... Even the "sale" prices are a bit ridiculous on most items. Perhaps worth noting that this time round about half the content is on sale (at least in my region), while the rest are normal prices with almost none of the items I was hoping for, being on sale... You go, ED.

I am not a programmer but I wonder how much incredible programing would it take to put the magnetic deviation on the map itself? It would be very helpful and I am being very much sarcastic. I believe the new IAG is a child of the new dynamic campaign system. HeatBlur is also supposed to bring out the Naval version of the F-4, so then it becomes what is the priority list from them as to when things appear.

The F4U Corsair has been looking "tantalizingly close" for about seven years.I don't understand why that airplane isn't in the sim yet. I'm glad to see the KOLA map is going to get some extra love. I had wanted it, but then saw some reviews and decided against it.

Ive been just asking for the aircraft alone. For some reason they want the Essex aircraft carrier done, the Marianas WW2 map done, and a bunch of japanese targets and opponents done as well before they release the plane. Why? I dont know, its not like the P51 went through that phase when they released it, but with that said, its a small wonder why people question why its taking so long.

Well, I can tell you that my eyes don’t really notice much much over 60 frames a second. Sometimes I’m running in VR at 60 sometimes I’m running at 72 sometimes it’s down around 40. I can tell the 40 to 60 but once it’s above 60 to 72. I can’t tell the damn difference; but I’m also 52 years old and never use anti-aliasing because I can’t tell the difference between that on or off either

So.... Which happens first?????? A Dynamic Campaign, a fully Textured C-17 (Same look from the LOCK ON Days), or all Aircraft made to look bigger when their less than a Quarter Mile Away? PS... Even with the Zoom Feature, I have to wear my Reading Glasses to Fly in DCS.....

Why doesn’t ECS just use google earth as the foundation for its maps. It would be great to fly realistic missions including deployment from the US to England and Germany.

Aforementioned FPS guardian here. My email is on my channel. I love making connections, and I love teaching stuff. If you need me to write a small magazine's worth of graphics information, hit me up. I also do videography and photography so I also have hot takes on 24fps in cinema if you want something to rustle your jimmies. Also, the mission generator will be a big help for DCS but really I'd prefer a brand new editor. Logic is all over the place, massive pain in the ass to do simple things. I'm three weeks into troubleshooting basic logic for a simple Iran mission. I'd sell a kidney to get node programming and a modern, user friendly UI into the sim.
