Publicly funded agencies should - as everywhere - only use their official city/ county/ state/ country logos and flags (which by the way already include everyone and not just certain groups). Again, neutrality is the key. Apart from that, the whole trans topic and the Black Li(v)es Matter hoax (both represented by some stripes) are definitely political and extremely controversial to say the least.

Nobody is going to receive anything less from the fire department just because they show the Pride flag on a vehicle. And no, the regular logos do not make inclusivity clear. This is a community that has been marginalized, targeted, and even persecuted for a long time, so showing visible support is a good thing. Vancouver Fire Rescue is doing the same thing for the First Nations community, with an indigenous art design now being featured on Engine 2. If anything things like this are a move towards actual neutrality and inclusivity.

@@ember_shep8181 There is no difference between a pump and an engine, it’s just to differentiate two units. When a station runs two engines they call the second one a pump. Squads are rescue engines, specialized in heavy rescues/ extrication etc. Basically an engine with extra equipment and specialized training as far as I know.
