Just goes to show that Primal Scream, bless 'em, didn't have an original idea in their heads, and that their best work was always done by someone else (Weatherall, Kevin Shields, etc...). The main riff in this one, starting at 0:33 , is a near-exact copy of Drag Racer by the Doug Wood Band, better known as the theme to BBC Sport's World Snooker Championship. 🤣

This song is so groovy. Anyone knows the meaning for the lyrics, It's about been hooked to drugs? Jailbird pie?
@VEHICLEFAN5500 Жыл бұрын
The track appears to be about living a free-spirited, rebellious life. The lyrics suggest that the narrator is a wild and passionate person, who is not afraid to push boundaries and break rules. The lines "Scratching like a tomcat" and "Got a monkey on my back" imply that the narrator is restless and always looking for the next thrill. The references to medication and "horse hoof tea" suggest that the narrator may be experimenting with drugs or other mind-altering substances. However, the overall tone of the song remains upbeat and celebratory. The repeated refrain of "I'm yours, you're mine, gimme more of that jailbird pie" can be interpreted in a few ways. It could be seen as a call to live life to the fullest, without fear of consequences. Alternatively, it could be seen as a reference to the pleasures one can find in breaking the rules and being a "jailbird". The chorus also repeats the phrase "strut your funky stuff", which reinforces the idea that the song is about living freely and enjoying oneself. Overall, "Jailbird" appears to be a celebration of living life on one's own terms and embracing the wild side of oneself.

Whatever crap you think this song is about. It's all a facade. BG must make it all up. He's not the free spirited rock n roller. He's a champagne socialist of the worst kind. If you support this band you may as well join the Conservative Party as well. Why would anyone resort to leaving an integral human being, and an integral band member penniless. Don't buy into their fake shit.
