Looks like a perfect place to view the eclipse. Be interesting to see how the eclipse would affect the shadow play on the canyons and hills. Beautiful photos of the wild flowers and sunset.

Been following for awhile now. Love your aspect on off road camping. I plan to come up through Oregon on my way to Washington in early August with my 10 year old grandson. I have a 4wd Tacoma and a Moby teardrop. I plan on scouting out a place for the eclipse on the way north and come back to it for the event. My grandson and I went to South Dakota and back last summer so I know he is seasoned to travel. The outdoor life and the eclipse will always be in our memory together. the hint about gas is great. I have 10 extra gallons excess and will be sure to top off. Keep up the great videos and the photo hints. Thanks Michael and Lucas
@PrimalOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
I think that would be a great trip for you and your grandson. If you want send me an email and maybe I can give you some ideas of some good spots, of course there are going to be so many people in Oregon I have no way of telling of how crowded different areas will be. Jason

Love your videos. It is a beautiful region that you live in. I like you camp setup. I was especially interested to see you swag setup. They are very popular for outback camping in Australia and I use one regularly when I am camping with my truck. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your next video.

Looks like the dogs enjoyed the trip as much as you! That is a great viewpoint for the eclipse. I would put that on the top of the list for sure. Like what you plan to do for filming the event. Those still shots were so awesome, had to go back and pause on them for a sec. Hope all is well in Primal Outdoors world! TFS and be well!

Thanks, I think that location will go very high on the list, partly because I know I can take back forest roads to it all the way from my house and hopefully bypass any heavy traffic that will be here come that time. I am glad you like the stills I am going to be offering high res copies up for download to my Patreon subs as soon as I can get a couple of bugs worked out. Jason

I think that for me, my excitement for the upcoming solar eclipse (that is to begin its US journey right here in Oregon) is being substantially enhanced through watching your videos of your preparation for your part of it. I am getting very excited for this rare opportunity of experiencing it. I have read that in excess of one million extra visitors are going to flood into Oregon for just this spectacle. With them concentrating right at the path, I think it will be very noticeable to anyone near there. Gasoline might become in short supply for a couple of days so I will stock up a couple of jeep cans of gas for sure. Thanks for your great videos Jason, you are so gifted with those camera's. I can't wait to see what you will produce from this. Take care buddy.
@PrimalOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Thank you, and good point on the gas. I am pretty excited about it too and will be very interested to see if all the hype will come true. I definitely plan on trying to prepare for worst case scenario being that a million people actually do show up and traveling to my intended destination well before eclipse date and not returning home until after. Thanks for the great comment. Jason

Beautiful photos, mate. I really enjoy your videos. Back in 2002 my little home town of Ceduna, South Australia, was in the path of totality for the solar eclipse. It's an amazing sight. Almost ruined by cloud cover, but that cleared at the last minute. The crowds that came with it were pretty amazing as well. A good spot out bush like that one, looks fantastic though. Would be even better if you had it to yourself.

Jason: Your landscape photography is outstand. I admire your skill and as I continue to watch your videos I am learning so much about how to look at and picture a scene before you shoot it. A professional photographer once told me that this is a skill that not all hope to be photographers acquire. That is most certainly me, but as I watch and listen to what you do I am learning.The music you put to your photos absolutely make the frosting on the cake!Gary

I'm beginning preps to view the Eclipse, just an hour drive for us. Seems like the entire Country is gonna be moving around to get a good view. Prepare accordingly. I seriously cant wait to see what you can catch on the big day. Are you going to arrive extra early to make sure everything is set?
@PrimalOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do plan to get there early. All truth be told if I didn't want to camp I could stay home my house is smack in the middle of the path, but that wouldn't be any fun. Good luck on your Eclipse adventure Jason

Once again, another great video. My future wife and I really enjoy watching the vids. We are going to be in Nashville to watch the solar eclipse! Just wondering where I can buy a Thermos like the one you had in the video so I can support your channel. Thanks Jason, See you again, outside
@PrimalOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Nashville should be a cool place to watch it the eclipse. The coffee thermos I use is Hydro Flask, but I only have the one that has my logo on it, I would have to do some research on whether I could get it done for a decent enough price to make worth selling. Jason

Your videos remind me of Minecraft ! :) I found a hopefully great spot for the eclipse: Forest road 40, 2 miles due west of Mt. Jefferson. It all depends on the weather. Otherwise, it's plan B... BTW, the sun will be about 40 degrees above the horizon at totality.
@PrimalOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
I have never played Minecraft? I think this will be the spot for me, not just because it has good views but I can get to it by back roads so hopefully I can bypass some of the crazy traffic. Jason
