Why did he lose so much if he was so good? He fought as amateur lightweight in the amateurs & he is still in the same damn weight class today! Nothing about that man’s career is impressive. He is quintessential definition of a hype job/great white hype. The Lopez fight was much closer than what the judges made it out to be, keep in mind Loma was injured in the fight and Lopez also wanted no parts of Loma after that. Haney was a straight up robbery, I can’t find a reason to give Haney more than 4 rounds, if I’m generous I could give him a 5th but he never won that fight and also ran from a rematch. Loma’s had a sad career, his skills are top 10 p4p and I can easily see him toy with many of the current p4p guys if that are the same weight, but his three losses exclude him from any p4p conversations and that’s insane.

Loma is the most exciting fighter in boxing today. The movement and technique variety is crazy That guard strip tactic in particular Seeing guys shell up and just get wailed on for a minute straight Would love to see some info on what caused his decline

God I hate u tube telling me what I can say or not say..u tube sucks...this production however was very well done. Lomo was/ is one of the very best ever. Hope he is well, and didn't get conscripted into the war as cannon fodder...

I'm 56 and I'm still in the gym 4-5 Days a week. I used to smash the bags relentlessly, but I'd soon tire. Now in my advancing years, I train more like Loma. In that I take out the power, and instead I throw a high volume of none stop punches. As accurate as possible whilst creating angles. I can do as many as 12 x 3mins Rounds, with high punch volume. Some of the guys will say "You need to light that bag up a bit with heavy artilary!" I never do, and on the rare occassions that I spar those same guys, I can actually light them up, Not because I'm hitting them hard, *(I've never done that in sparring, its a c@&7s trick)* it's more because they can't handle the constant in the face volume of punches and the off line angles. It frustrates them. These are strong guys half my age, I don't want to be tagged by, so I have to keep moving!! LOL I learned to create angles back in the 80s when I met *Mike Tyson* and his then trainer *Kevin Rooney* in *Gleasons gym,* New York, in the mid to late 80s? Kevin Rooney showed me some foot movement which I've done ever since. Which is similar to what Loma does when he moves around an opponent. Tyson did it first back in the day.

Loma at featherweight and jr lightweight was pretty much unstoppable that would even give the current featherweights massive problems even lomas debut at lightweight made people think he could hang with the 140s pounders he was that guy in his prime .

I got to see him live against Russell jr at Home Depot center it was crazy he had all black shorts no sponsors and only a small group of fans sitting together seemed to be his family or something. I had heard of him but I expected Russell to win. I didn’t know I was watching the beginning of such a special fighter

My #1 boxer of all times. And yet with all that he has achieved I still consider he's reached only 50% of what he could. Injuries, the war in Ukraine, etc... Nevertheless, he's one of his kind.

I think Lomas biggest mistake was not working on the shoulder injury which it became prevalent in 2018 during the Pedraza fight. I think he could’ve stayed out for a long time and address the injury then, and getting adequate rest/rehab after and request to be elevated to super WBO champ and Crolla becomes regular champ. Had Loma done that, he could’ve unified the belt against Teo, fought Haney for undisputed, unify the WBA belt against Crolla and then request mandatory for Josh Taylor through his super WBO belt or we get a Gervonta Davis WBA unification bout.

Bringing Soviet Union school first times surprises everyone in the ring. It was common in SU what Loma did in the ring and his dad's coaching is direct reflection of that nearly forgotten style.

Lomachenko is one of those fighters whose name sparks a clear divide between real boxing fans and casuals. Those who truly know the sport recognize his incredible skill, footwork, and fight 1Q. Meanwhile, casuals and people who don't understand the nuances of boxing are quick to label him overrated, missing the brilliance that makes him a special talent in the ring.

What made loma special was that he wanted belts and wanted to fight champions. I think his most impressive fight was when he fought Gary Russell in his third or fourth fight. The fact that he made Gary Russell look slow and beat him convincingly was something special.
