Sangeet ka ta'alluq Dil ke sukun se hota hai aur Quran sukun ke ta'alluq se kehta hai " ala bizikrillaahi tatmainnul Qulub" means tranquility lies in zikr of Allah only. So if you are seeking tranquility in any other things your knowledge is limited. There are many changes in Islamic commandments but we need to see in last phase of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The shariat completed before the demise of prophet. Before that many changes are made. For example people used to take wine and came to masjid but later on it was prohibited. Maulana must do homework before coming to such places.

Hadhrat Ibn Abbaas (radhiyallahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Verily, Allah has made haraam liquor, gambling, the musical drum, and every intoxicant is haraam." (Ahmad, Abu Dawood, Baihqi, etc.) Hadhrat Ibn Mas'ud (radhiyallahu anhu) narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Verily, singing generates hypocrisy in the heart just as water causes farm-produce to grow". (Baihaqi) Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "The bell is among the musical instruments of shaitaan." (Abu Dawood) Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu anhu) narrates: "Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: 'Verily, the bell is of the musical instruments of shaitaan." (Muslim and Abu Dawood)
