Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier kzbin.infoUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.

DR. Smoke the only one I have is that it seems the right side gets hotter than the left. I’ve tried to move the heat box but don’t know how far over from the left it should be. Tried the recommended distance in the manual but the right side is still about 10-15 degrees hotter than the left.

Got a Jim Bowie prime plus on Father’s Day and I’m super happy we spent the extra money on the plus. It was really a no brainier to pay an extra $70. The folding shelf is a must! The cook light is awesome! And the ability to make this a rotisserie cooker is pretty cool. Love my GMG so far and I’m looking forward to more cooks with it.

Bought the Daniel Boone Prime Plus 7 April this week. Did the burn off and grilled a couple of chuck eye steaks today. So far, looks as if I made a great choice. Heats up fairly quickly and holds temp. Got a butt to cook this weekend. Next weekend, I will be doing a brisket. I want to get the pizza oven next. Love to make homemade pizza. This is a little (just a little😅) cheaper than an Ooni oven.

the biggest feature for me is that the front tray is retractable, the Prime is a fixed tray and it will not pass through a standard doorway.

Thanks for the review. Hopefully you'll improve on your audio. I had settled on the Traeger 575, possibly Timberline 850 if there was a big sale on it, but am starting to change my mind in favor of GMG. I plan on moving to the northeast so I want something with thicker gauge metal for better insulation and general ruggedness. Your video is helping me grow more confidant about switching over to MGM. Will probably end buying a insulation blanket for overnight smoking.

I wanted that folding shelf since day one...love my grill, but I wanted to use a normal cover and be able to get it through a doorway....and why in gods name would you give us a power supply thats not outdoor rated, when most people are going to use a "smoker" outside.

Love my GMG. Bought what is now the "Choice" model a year before they announced these. Sometimes wish that my timing was better but my unit has been great, meaning zero issues. One question though. I've read online that the Prime Plus also has an upgraded auger motor. Is that true? Many of these upgrades are very nice creature comforts, but an improved auger motor would be a real "upgrade" in my opinion.

I got that, but why even have an indoor power supply with a 12v plug on the end , when charging $750....did I mention the 12v plug, don't find many of those indoors. We love the grill, just certain things never made sense.

It has to do with the fan speed, a DC supply allows you to change the fan speed in very minute amounts, whereas the AC is not as friendly to fan speeds

IT Is showing the difference between the prime and prime plus. Not the different models. The only difference between the Daniel Boone Prime and Jim Bowie prime abs prime plus is the width. The Jim Bowie has 13" more of grill space.

Right now I’m leaning toward the Camp Chef because of the pellet purge on the hopper, the ash clean out and the propane add on’s. Living in an apartment my patio space is really limited.
