To be fair that's less likely here, because the tuning mesh that they stealthily removed in PR2, here in PR3 is already missing from the beginning. Well, unless they decide to add it at some point. I rather enjoy my PR3, and it's fine for the price, especially if you get it on sale - I bought mine on the pre-release sale when it was $30, and I believe it's around that price during other sales, too.

Yk people in some groups I'm in have modded the pr3 and I will say the pr3, has endless modding potential for tuning body or even the driver, hope kz doesn't change this in like 2 months

@@PrimeAudioReviews, I found the PR2 x HBB on Lazada for about USD$25, and so I just ordered a pair (I can always return them if I don't like them). I got the Dioko planars at the same time, for a great price (using vouchers). Reverend Dr. Thomas, The Vegan Vicar.

I purchased these.. They are too quiet when paired with then KZ AZ09 Pro and have to be driven my phone or mp3 player. I really like the sound but they are rather large in size. I mainly listen to audiobooks tho so I'm mainly interested in speech.

If KZ ever changes their cables from 0.75mm pins to 0.78mm pins, like the rest of the industry, I may give them another look. I have way too many 0.78mm cables and modular cables to have 2 sizes.
@ufopulse

dude they fit just fine... the only iem i EVER had issue with was EA500 which really really wants 078 but meh

@@ufopulse When you machine parts down to 1/1000th of a inch, 3/100ths are a big deal 😉😊. I don't feel like ruining a $150 set of cables on a $50 IEM either.

@@markseymour8365 Umm no. Straight to toxicity eh? I own quiet a few KZs, they were my introduction to IEMs. Still use them for gaming and traveling. I'm just wondering why they still use different pins. I use 4.4mm balanced cables and find it hard to find 0.75mm pin balanced cables, that's my gripe.
@marhensa
@marhensa 8 ай бұрын
@@Undead.Musicphile I have both of these, QKZ Q1 Max, also TRN TN. that's balanced cable for "KZs QDC Type-C pins", have you tried it? Both of them also modular, there's 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm single ended modular jacks. Personaly I think QDC Type-C pins is better in design than regular 2-pins, because it has plastic housing to prevent the pins from bends, but since the regular 2-pins are more popular, people just hate QDC pins for "being different".

Are these open backs? Would you say I can wear these while on my bike commute to work? I live in America where you can't cross the street on a protected light without paying attention
@PrimeAudioReviews

They are semi-open so you can still here your environment so long as the music is not turned up too loud.

Can you see if your pair has a sheet of black tuning foam over the driver, or if you can see the magnets through the clear shell? I noticed they were a little sharp, kinda like the TRN rosefinch planar, and not like the smooth and fast, cohesive tune of the v1 pr2 before it was ruined into a screechy, horrendous sibilant incohesive mess of the v2 (I have both, and had to add some medium density tuning foam down the nozzles of the v2 version of the pr2 to salvage them) I pulled the trigger on the pr3 just because I feel obligated to stay up to date on what kz is up to in their budget planars since the original pr2 was a straight up dominator. And I agree with mine that it's got extension bit is very sharp, even for me, and I unironically adore grado. It's just a bit too much. I prefer the sharp treble of the 7hz diokos a lot more. It just isn't as cohesive with the mids. But for like 35 bucks... sure. I'd probably go for even the moondrop chu 2 over them, but they do have a lot of speed and aren't so power hungry that they need to be amplified, which is a big deal to me for cheaper stuff. I also feel kinda spoiled in treble since I got the creative aurvana ace 2 with the dd + xmems driver. Xmems drivers are just nuts, such stunning clarity and so natural. Literally no drawback treble.

@@PrimeAudioReviews no need... I play mostly at my room with a quiet enviroment... Only the PC fans noise. I'll try those. Atm I'm rocking a ZS10 PRO X and lovin' it but I think plannar would be better bcs that bass response.

I used a PR2 and now a PR3 to play my FPS games like Tarkov, for example. I use it plugged into a Z series soundblaster and I am quite satisfied with both. Currently I prefer the PR3 because it is brighter. I make small adjustments to the equalization of my sound card and everything is fine.

Question, did you burn them out first? and for how long ?
@PrimeAudioReviews
@PrimeAudioReviews Ай бұрын
I don't believe in burning-in IEMs. I've never heard an IEM's sound change (or measure differently) over time. However, I do believe in 'brain-in' where the brain accustoms itself to different sound signatures eg. IEM sounds bright at first but after a while the brain adjusts and you get used to it and it doesn't sound as bright - until you switch back to a warmer sound.
