*Correction - this has Boron steel skid plates, not aluminum* Is this Bison Edition ZR2 the baddest midsize truck? *Thanks for watching and have a great day!*
@TRDGE4 жыл бұрын
People make it a huge deal about the hard plastics... I think as long as the main places of contact have some comfortable materials, the hard plastics for offroading vehicles makes a lot of sense since they are easy to clean. I also don't mind as long as the truck performs amazingly as it should.

@krasnaludek2982 жыл бұрын
Agree; the mid-size segment is all about simplicity & not trying to compete with a F-150 Platinum or Ram Laramie Limited. $44K - $50K truck & this is on par with Ford & Toyota; arguably better, less push button start.

Going from a 2017 Tacoma 4x4 off road w/ crawl control to a 2019 Colorado Bison V-6 gas, it has twice the power of the Tacoma, steers better, smoother ride, tows better and shifts smoother. Way more comfortable seats too! No problems yet! 1yr and 12000 miles!
@terrynichol5773 жыл бұрын
You will regret that decision then. You never sway away from a Tacoma LOL. Used to their own though, but the Tacoma is definitely the better quality truck. Although I do like these Chevys look

Thank you Chris! Crazy you say that cuz I had a bad experience with a Malibu lol..haven’t had a Chevy since then 😕. Definitely fun to drive in the snow sometimes haha. We got flurries here in Texas today...probably the most we will get all year lol.

It was an ‘09 with the 3.6L Within the first year a trim piece inside fell off the dash (super minor) Then things were good for a few years but right around 50-60k miles I had about 6 different things happen within a year. Twice it randomly died. Just shut off and wouldn’t start. I was in gear and nothing unique happened. Had to wait several minutes then it started up. That was never diagnosed. Throttle position sensor needed replacing and I literally couldn’t drive the car at all. It would rev to about 500 rpm and barely move the vehicle. Couldn’t back out of my parking spot lol. Something with the steering column or shaft needed replacing, was making a noise and grinding sensation while driving. Big ticket item. Wheel bearing went bad and needed replacing. One of the back doors (that rarely got used) wouldn’t open. Some internal mechanism failed and I was told it was a common problem with GM vehicles. Wouldn’t start one time, wouldn’t jump..no battery,starter or alternator problems. Had it towed and nothing was diagnosed - would continue to not start occasionally and again randomly died with no apparent reason. The audio system would shut off and go blank sometimes and not turn on until the car would get shut off then turned back on. I loved it, it was quiet, smooth, comfortable...but we constantly had something happening and my wife ended up being the one to drive it more and after the last time it stranded us, I got rid of it as fast as I could. Had it towed maybe 3 times total. I think it had some electrical bug. We actually sold that and bought a 2004 Highlander with triple the miles for much less and haven’t had anything like that happen lol. I had a few problems with a 2006 Silverado all before 80k miles too and have been hesitant to trust GM lately, unfortunately. My mother drives a 2002 Silverado with about 250k miles that’s still tickin

Scott Mccauley thanks man it was a real bummer. I know what you mean about those older Malibu’s. I had a friend with one around those years that was unstoppable lol. Glad things went well for your mother’s! That’s a shame to hear about your Father’s though. Thanks for stopping by!

Straight overlander- go Bison. Anything else, mod up the ZR2. It is cheaper-and the stock bumper has a good approach angle. Installing full AEV Skids and 589 Shock skids a must.

I bought the 2020 Bison diesel in white at the end of August. Loving it. I added the AEV transmission skid, snorkel and Warn winch with the AEV Warn winch kit. Working on installing rear lights in the AEV bumper and some ditch lights. The phone charger was useless to me so I removed it and the storage box it is attached to and replaced it with the version without the charger. This adds a more usable area for change and stuff. I also added a USB plug inside the storage box like previous years. Why? Because when Chevy removed the plug that just filled the hole with a blank without changing the storage box, so wasted space. Did I say I'm loving it? The downside with the diesel is that your payload is limited to 887 lbs which stinks to be sure.
